"Kevin Bacon and Marcia Gay Harden sign on for the Warner Independent Pictures drama that will mark the directorial debut of Alison Eastwood, daughter of Clint.

Alison Eastwood is working with a pair of her father's alumni as she begins work on her first film as a director. The Hollywood Reporter indicates Kevin Bacon and Marcia Gay Harden are in negotiations with Warner Independent Pictures to co-star in Rails and Ties, which will mark the younger Eastwood's directorial debut.
Bacon and Harden both appeared in a recent film for the Paterfamilias, Mystic River, a project that earned Harden an Oscar nomination. Both actors have been very busy since then. Harden has The Invisible and The Dead Girl in the pipeline, and Bacon has The Air I Breathe in postproduction while he shoots the action film Death Sentence for director James Wan.
Rails and Ties centers on the attempted suicide of a distraught mother, who parks her car on a railroad crossing, with her 9-year old son inside, and waits for a train. Bacon will play the train engineer, and Harden, his wife. Shooting on Rails and Ties begins early next year. Clint's Malpaso production shingle is behind the project."
