Odviously I would like to see The Nightmare Before Christmas again in a theater but I'm really not certain if its worth it in 3D. Has anyone viewed this yet? Is it alright or irritating as hell? I went and saw the 3D Superman Returns and was just bothered by the parts that were in 3D. Any Thoughts?

Absolutely. The film is spectaular in 3D. Even simple shots were mind blowing in the 3D. I really loved the 3D shot of Jack walking down the hill during his solo song after "This is Halloween."

I heard they redid the soundtrack though. Fall Out Boy? Talk about pandering to its teen fanbase...

Thankfully, this is far from accurate. In coordination with the film's 3-D re-release, a MUSIC CD featuring covers of songs from the film by bands such as Fall Out Boy, Marilyn Manson, Fiona Apple and others has been released. The film itself, aside from the 3-D, has not been altered, as I have come to understand.

Good, that has been bugging me for a while, and I've been too lazy to research it.

thanks for the responses. I was really worried that the 3D factor would make this awkward to watch, but you've convenced me to give it a viewing. Thanks

I've always been a fan of the film. But it's recent descent into the hearts of every emo kid in America has pissed me off because it's like their Scarface for the ghetto kids. It's been so over exposed. My girlfriend is in absolute love with the film, but she has been since a child. And she's not emo (thank God!) So when it came out in 3D she really wanted me to see it with her. So I did and loved it! The 3D makes everything stand out. The colors and charecters look absolutely amazing. Not to mention the movie looks incredibly beautiful in 3D as well, everything pops. The Oogie Boogie scene being my favorite.
Definately worth the price of the ticket.

I finally went and saw it last night. Everyone was right, the movie looked amazing in 3D. I cant believe it took me that long to give it a shot. I agree that the Oogie Boogie scene was absolutly beautiful. Thanks everyone for getting me to do something I should have done weeks ago.

This may be a really stupid question..but will this be released on DVD as the 3-D version? Like..the same version that's in the theater right now with 3-D glasses included? I really want to see it but won't get a chance because there's no theaters near me.

I saw it in 3D and thought it was great. Some directors are considering converting other 2D movies to 3D. Kong, LOTR, Titanic and Star Wars.
So I'm all for it. Of course 2D movies converted over to 3D are not as good as a new 3D movie because they film it knowing it's going to be in 3D.
As of the DVD, I don't see how it'll work. The projector does most of the work at a digital theater showing 3D. The glasses you wear are fixed polarized filters. I believe that there is a filter that the film is projected through. Meaning the cost is in the PJ not the glasses. Other places that show 3D have goggles that are battery powered and are wireless with shutters flicking on and off. Communicating with the PJ via infrared signal.
They sell a 3D home PJ but you have to wear the goggles, not the glasses.
I could be wrong but I don't see how without changing our home hardware to pull it off. Monster House was filmed with 3D in mind, but you can only right now rent or buy the 2D version.
I would absolutely love to watch anything in the new 3D on the home theater.
DeepSea 3D IMAX was awesome to watch. Totally real. The narration was weak though.
When a good number of movies are shown in 3D, the cinema business will thrive. This is what directors and others are hoping for to bring people back into the theaters. Having something that people will not be able to see the same at home until the home theater business catches up.
So when a new movie gets released in 3D, get the fuck out to the 3D cinema before it leaves or heads to the 2nd run featuring 2D.
