Last weekend all of my friends and I celebrated Halloween on Saturday night. We had parties galore, all dressed up, and had a blast. As its known on the site by now, I went as Shaun of the Dead.
While we were pre-gaming at a friends house (if you dont know what pre-gaming is just ask a college student) and we discovered that Shaun of the Dead was on Comedy Central. I went nuts cause it was one of those 'I'm dressed as him I feel like I'm a part of it' moments, and convinced everyone to leave it there so we could watch it. None of my friends had ever seen the movie, but as we were watching, everyone loved it and we were all laughing our asses off.
Except one bitch in the corner.
She showed up about an hour after we got there, and she wasnt invited by us. She was a tag-along with her friends. She wasnt dressed up, she was ugly and overweight, and we all knew she was that "pity" friend most people have where they have to bring her along or else she'll get all emo and whine about how no one likes her.
Anyways, we're all enjoying ourselves, and this cunt just totally kills the mood. She starts complaining about every little thing in the movie. How the zombies look fake (of course they do, zombies arent real!), how jokes and gags we laughed our asses off about arent funny but stupid and then the kicker: How annoying Ed is and how if she was in that situation she would kill Ed herself and let the zombies feast on his body.
Now, there is nothing wrong with disliking a movie. Shaun of the Dead, as I've come to observe, is a movie you either love or hate. Apparently, she hated this movie with every fiber of her fat being. She had never seen it before, so it was like she wasnt even giving it a chance. She just automatically hated it because everyone else loved it. And she felt the need to try to bring us all down by trashing it right in front of us. Well, I lost it.
Without even looking at her, because the whole room knew who I was talking to the instant I spoke, I said "Why dont you just shut the fuck up? We're having a good time enjoying this movie and your uninvited ass is ruining it for us." She was kind of shocked for a second or two and then said "Well I have an opinion and I can express it." And I came back with "Thats right, you do, but you dont have to express it every 5 seconds while the rest of us are enjoying ourselves. So sit there, shut the fuck up, and have fun with the rest of us." Of course then, she got mad and left the room and her friends had to follow her to make sure she was ok, at which point myself and the rest of my friends started ripping on her, cause thats what people do. I guess she took the "uninvited" comment to heart because we never saw her again that night, which was fine by all of us.
But my rant is this: why do people have to be like her? I've had it happen before. Everyone is having fun, enjoying a movie, and one person doesnt like it so they make an annoying ass of themselves in front of everyone and ruin the mood in the room. Just say you dont like the movie and shut the fuck up. Or, better yet, seeing as how we are in a house, leave the room and go have fun some other way like fixing a drink and talking with your friends. Leave the people alone who are watching the movie and enjoying it instead of being a party killer with your unwanted opinions.
