Well everyone,

As I write this thread, I'm trying desperately not to drive my fist through my keyboard. You might be reading this and wondering, "Why is Elder so mad?". I'll tell you why and it is for one reason, I couldn't see "Borat" tonight. The reason for this is because the usual Famous Players theatre that I go to religiously was playing "Borat" in two theatres at 10:10pm and when both Double-Oh-Zero and I arrived at the theatre at 8:20pm (almost 2 hours in advance), both theatres were completely SOLD OUT!

Now here comes the reasoning behind my very angry title. In our particular theatre, the fucking retarded looking CGI-flick "Flushed Away" was being played in 3 theatres. That's right everybody, "3"!! Now the thing is, the last show for "Flushed Away" was around 7:40pm which means that it would have been done around 9:00pm - 9:15pm. I and several others approached the "Guest Services" desk about this issue and they told us that no other theatres were available to put "Borat" in a third theatre which makes absolutely no fucking sense. At this point, Double-Oh and I were about the blow a fucking gasket as we always make sure that we're a few hours early both to get tickets and to be guaranteed awesome seats.

So both Double-Oh and I had to get tickets for tomorrow at 1:05pm which blows because we both love seeing the movie in a crowded theater at night because it would have made the experience much more exciting and memorable. Double-Oh has to go back to school in the afternoon so we can't see it tomorrow night. We're both extremely pissed off and we had to share this with all of you. At this point, we're anticipating a huge fucking riot at the theatre for everyone who couldn't see it yesterday because they were working or whatever and were looking so forward to seeing it tonight but are totally fucked like we were.

We were there 2 hours early and this is the first time since "Titanic" (almost 10 years ago) that we've come to a movie super early and have been truly ass-invaded by the theatre. The thing that blows my and Double-Oh's mind as well is that they would have easily filled the third theatre and made a quick $3,000 - $4,000 more profit from it. WTF?

So I say Fuck "Flushed Away" because that movie totally fucked over our night and it won't even be close to #1 at the box office this weekend based on early estimates already.

Finally I have to ask, did anyone else get fucked over as well and didn't get to see it? I've never been more outraged in my life. They couldn't offer us anything for our troubles. These theatres need to get their facts straight when it comes to what movies will be popular and which will not. We also have to drive quite a bit which blows as well. Not even "Revenge of the Sith" was playing in 3 theatres when it came out here yet a piece of shit CGI film that is exactly like 100 other shitty animated flicks this year gets 3 theatres. Both Double-Oh and I barely saw any kids there. So I say again, WTF?

I'd love it if you guys would like to comment on this and join me and Double-Oh in our anger because I've never been so outraged. What do you all think?

"Urge to kill.....rising!"

It should be to some consideration that "Borat" was only played in around 800-900 movie theaters in its opening week - not as wide as "Flushed Away." That's why "Flushed Away" most likely stole one extra auditorium in your theater than "Borat." Sorry you couldn't see the movie at your own convenience, but there you go.

Yeah, we didn't even get it here and probably won't in its entire theatrical run. I'll have to wait for it on dvd or until I happen to be in a town that's playing it.

I agree and that's the part that blows. "Flushed Away" won't be nearly as popular as "Borat".

And that's why living in LA is the way to go....

As of this typing, there are 11 showtimes within five minutes of me.

Now, having made myself the villain of this thread, I will return to the night from whence I came.

That really sucks Elder but if it's any consolation the way Borat is doing if they had that third theater it would have probably been sold out by the time you got there too. At least you only have to wait one more day and having seen Borat I can say you will not be dissapointed. It is one of the funniest movies I have ever seen.

Actually, when we got there, it was just selling out on the two screens (literally, as we were selecting the showtimes from the ticket machine); Elder and I waited around for a bit to see if they would put it in a third theatre. Elder (along with what appeared to be about a dozen other irate moviegoers) then asked one of the manager chaps about it.

No dice.

I wouldn't be pissed off about the whole thing if it was up against something like Spider-Man 3. But "Flushed Away?" A.K.A "Yet Another Mediocre CGI Flick That Has A Bunch of Cutesy Animals Voiced by Celebrities?" I was tempted to do a Tyler Durden and splice a coupla porn frames into the flick.

Hooray for Sunday matinees.

Exactly, that was a such a bitch when we did that. All we needed was 30 seconds and we would have had tickets. :D Oh well, we'll see it tomorrow for sure.

I agree for sure but it's just the 3 theatre for "Flushed Away" that pisses me off. :D

It plays in three theaters now.
After a week of poor viewings, it'll drift to playing in NO theaters.
One of the problems with the entertainment industry nowadays.

actually solomon... this coming friday BVORAT will be expanding into a normal 2500 theaters. So you should be able to find a showtime come friday!

A similar thing happened to me.. i went to the theater to see the midnight show on thursday night, when we got there the 1 showing they had was sold out.. but as soon as i walked to the automated machines, they had added a second showing and all was rejoiced! And i got to watch what i think is the funniest flick i ever seen!
