Anyone else agree that celebrities (and hell, people in general) getting tattooes of their lovers is a horrible mistake? A tattoo of your lover's name is an automatic jinx on the relationship in my book. Or any tattoo to accomdate a lover, but especially their name.

My mom once told me about this tattoo guy who works over here who is about 59 that she talked to sometime earlier this year. He had tattoos up and down his arms and such, which is understandable due to him being a tattoo artist. However, he said he has been giving out tattoos his entire life non-stop since he was 24 and to this very day, he is on record for giving more cover-ups than original tats. He said it annoys him to death when someone wants a tat of a lover's name or whatever cause he knows that it either A) Will jinx the relationship and B) They'll probably be right back in there asking him to cover it up. He's been married to the same woman since his early 30s and he still doesn't have a tattoo of her anywhere on him.

Anyways, how many celebrity couples that have broken up that have had tats of each other in some way, shape, or form? Hmm, let me name a few:

Carmen Electra and Dave Navarro
I don't know where but they got their wedding dates tattooed on each other in the same exact spot. Navarro even went the extra length and got her intitals C.E tattooed on his chest. Divorced!

Angelina Jolie and Billy Bob Thorton
Don't know about Billy Bob but Angelina got a huge tattoo of his name with some kind of snakes thing or whathefuckever on her arm right there in large, plain sight. Divorced!

Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards
Married 4 years (right?) and they had two children together. Or rather, Denise was getting ready to have the second child when she filed for divorce. That takes enough balls as it is. But anyways, that's not the point. The fact is, Charlie got her name tattooed on his left wrist I believe.

Anyhow, who agrees with me here that this is a mistake, especially for celebrities? And who can name some more examples of celebrity-break ups that involved having tats accomdating each other on them somewhere?

I agree, It's a HUGE mistake. It might seem fun at first, but I've never heard of a relationship that lasted that has done the tattoo thing. I do however think if they have kids, they should just be safe and tattoo the kids names on them. That way, if they break up, the kids names can stay.
Although, the celebs have enough money to go and get cover-ups anyways. They still end up looking stupid.

Other celeb ex-couples are:

Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee ---They got tattoos on thier ring fingers, instead of wedding rings.

the best has got to be Jonny Depp and Winnona Ryder .
Jonny got the words Winnona Forever on his arm. And after they broke up, he had it changed to WINE-O FOREVER!(or somthing like that i'm not sure I spelled wine-o, or winnona's name correct, but you get the idea)

Yeah, it's stupid. Maybe if they tatooed "This won't last" on their body, the relationship would last.

I've got a tatoo of my wife's name on my arm BUT:

1) It's in Korean (so if we broke up, people would just think it was a cool design and I could tell them it meant whatever I want)
2) Her name is April, and I was born in April, SO if push comes to shove, it still works out.

Remember the rules of tattooing.

Don't get a name of your signifcant other unless you want to have to explain it to all who ask about it....including the next girl / guy that might not be too understanding.

Oh, and no curse words.
Trust me. It's ALWAYS a bad idea.
