Seriously, this new trend is fucking annoying. I saw a tv spot today for Santa Claus 3 - "THE NUMBER ONE FAMILY MOVIE IN AMERICA"

NO SHIT! IT'S LIKE THE ONLY FAMILY MOVIE IN AMERICA RIGHT NOW!

Goddamn, look at the top 10 this past week:

1. Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan
2. The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause
3. Flushed Away
4. Saw III
5. The Departed
6. The Prestige
7. Flags of Our Fathers
8. Man of the Year
9. Open Season
10. The Queen

Yeah, see, there are only 3 family movies on that list. How pathetic do you have to be to declare yourself #1 when there is only one or two other competitors? Borat and Man of the Year are the only adult comedies on that list but you dont hear the studio for Borat making tv spots that say "THE NUMBER ONE MOVIE STARRING A COMEDIAN IN THE COUNTRY". Or Saw saying "THE NUMBER ONE MOVIE IN AMERICA WHERE PEOPLE GET TORTURED ON SCREEN FOR ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES!"

Stop it. Please. There is only one #1 movie in America, and thats the one that is actual #1.

Would you rather see more sincere ads, like "WE'RE NUMBER 2!" ??

What saddens me is that they're trying to prevent those from seeing a much better film of the family genre like Flushed Away. You know, one kids and adults can BOTH enjoy?

Yeah. I would bring up another point. Flushed Away is enjoyable. Santa Clause 3 is like eating razors. Even my 6 old cousin hated it.

They take what they can get. They didn't make it to #1, so they gotta market what they can. I just find it funny that they have to stoop to that.

And Borat's new marketing would be "The #1 movie in America" since it is the number one movie in America. It happens all the time.

I saw this tonight while watching Borat. Yeah, some genius brought their young child and they both laughed.
