Because hes a "bald headed fag."

No really... because Eminem is desperate for media attention so he pretty much picked someone randomly to have 'beef' with.

I thought this was old news. A few YEARS old, in fact. Were you watching VH1 when you found out about the beef?

I'm sorry. I wasn't aware it was still 2002. Oh well, atleast we don't have to kick overxpoesed celebs around like these:

Justin Guiarni
that Weakest Link host
Britney Spears...oh wait.

Eminem is mad at Moby, because Moby actually has talent.

Moby has talent? Hmmm... interesting, never knew.

Eminem has more talent then most people in the entire music industry, let alone the techno dweeb Moby.

Yea because making words rhyme and insulting others for no reason in those "rhymes" is talent.

Eminem is just an excuse for white boys to act like gangstas.

Moby made a comment during an interview one time about how Eminem was racist misogynistic and Eminem fired back in one of his hit singles. I wonder if the people here who say Eminem doesn't have talent are saying that because they dont' like Eminem or they just don't like rap music in general. I doubt most of you have ever actually sat down and listened to Eminem's music. In my opinion he has infinitely more talent than Moby does. Moby's too pop-ish for me anyways.

I have nothing to say on this other than:

Moby: Very talented.
Eminem: Very talented.

I don't like Eminem or his music. But I love rap.

I've listened to only 2 of Eminems albums. I don't know how many he has. But I don't know how anyone can listen to his voice. His voice is so annoying.

And he doesn't hold a candle to N.W.A., Public Enemy, 2-Pac, Saul Williams, Mos Def.

And why are we bringing this up from like 4 years ago?

Well, he IS right. Eminem released at least ONE classic. Moby hasn't/

What would that be?

someguy

The Marshall Mathers LP is seen as his 'classic' but then again Candle in the Wind is seen as a classic too so it doesn't necessarily mean good.

Some would consider Moby's "Play" album a classic too. I mean that in the most subjective way possible. So they're both relatively talented.

someguy

By classic do you mean it in the 'oh i remember that from <commercial>' way?

Somewhat.

The Heart Collector

yeah someguy said it better. Play was a commercially successful album that had the same song on it a dozen times. F that S.

No, Eminem doesn't hold a candle to Nas, Mos Def, 2-Pac, and Bone Thugs. Get it right.

Are you telling someone that their opinion is wrong? Seriously? I mean you like eminem so really, you shouldnt be trying to tell others their opinion is wrong.

Thanks for letting me know. I was scratching my head as to why on earth MNM would hate a person as good natured as Moby.

Yeah, I read that part. I didn't mean to offend you. I was just puzzled as to you would bring up something that old out of the blue as if it were recent, since no one really talks about it anymore. But it's cool. :)

I'd say Eminem is a bit of a flash in the pan compared to Moby, who has been a prominent figure in his genre over a decade, his first album being a huge hit and then making one almost a decade later that hits harder.

It's pretty short-sighted to compare the two anyway. I'm pretty sure that MNM sees Moby no differently than every other music star he name drops on that album he made.

I'm not bashing Eminem, or elating Moby - just pointing out that the comparison is sort of stretching it. I'd say Eminem has sold more albums, but that Moby is more influential, and -- distinguished isn't the right word - but you know when you ask people to list rap artists, most aren't going to immediately say Eminem. Moby is practically the spokesperson for techno/electronic - whether he deserves to be or not is truly subjective, but the fact is that he is.

Same here. It was a joke especially since the only person I was dissing in the thread were the overexposed celebs especially a trailer trash bimbo who split from her equally dumb partner.

I disagree. And I wouldn't call Moby truly techno, more like alternative techno pop. As far as techno/electronica/industrial/whatever, there are FAR more talented people out there than Moby. Fatboy Slim, Crystal Method, Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, Paul Oakenfold, and BT, to name a few. Moby's just an overrated baldheaded fag.

Funny, you almost made a valid point and then you ruin it by acting like a child and insulting his looks and sexuality. Maybe one day you will get it right.

When did I call him truly techno? I even put in the slash-electro to indicate it's not exactly 808 State. Aside from that, Moby's early work was 808 State-styled techno, then he sort of slid into other sounds.

And whether or not you or I would rather listen to those other artists, the truth of the matter is that fewer people cite those artists as they cite Moby. You go to sources about techno music, and you can expect Moby's name to eventually pop up -

Try it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Techno

Even when MadTV does a pharmaceutical commercial spoof for ecstasy, which artist do they refer to when going to a rave? http://youtube.com/watch?v=KyBPQ0Jaxj0

Aside from that - even if you are going to group together a half dozen totally different sounding genres into one catch all electronic music category that can include anyone from Skinny Puppy to Deep Dish, I still don't see where you'd come up with the comparison between Fatboy Slim, Crystal Method, Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, Paul Oakenfold, and BT - don't get me wrong, I like all of these groups, but you may as well just thrown The Alan Parsons Project into the mix. They used electronic synths and production methods too.

I think my point is valid. Moby is a text book example of a genre of music, and is often cited as an early influence to many, many other artists. That's not as much the case with Eminem. Whether or not you like him, or think he is the dog's balls - it makes no difference.

Moby's just an overrated baldheaded fag.

Well, if I made any point, I hope it is that labels don't help much.
