Tom Hanks dead?

A rumour is floating around that Tom Hanks died this morning in New Zealand. A source sent me the following:

"Actor Tom Hanks died while filming a movie in New Zealand early this morning - November 15, 2006.

Preliminary reports from New Zealand Police officials indicate that the actor fell more than 60 feet to his death on the Kauri Cliffs while on-set. Specific details are not yet available.

The accident occured at aproximatly 4:30 a.m. (UTC/GMT +12)."

I hope this is a hoax.

Not true. If you check the site you got it from :

The same news story will then appear word for word with any other name you plug in, for example

If it were true, it would be posted on every news and gossip site on the planet which it isn't. I'm very glad of that.

Well if it really was true, it's possible that it would NOT be posted all over the web yet because police would be investigating further before releasing information publicly.

Also they tend to hold back news of someones death in respect to the persons family... if at all possible.

But as you say, it seems to be fake anyway so it's a moot point.
