Well ladies and gentlemen, the time is almost upon us. It's been a long 4 years since "Die Another Day" and every Bond fan around the world has been crying out for a new look since then. After 44 years of saving the world, killing the villains, driving hot cars, making love to exotic women and consuming several vodka martinis (enough to vapourize a normal man's liver :D), James Bond goes on strong in every nation around the world. Every woman wants him and every man (including myself) wants to be him. He truly is the greatest action hero of all-time and no other fictional character will ever be able to top 007.
With that in mind, it's only a few days left until the release of "Casino Royale" which is already being quoted as "the greatest Bond film ever". As many of you know, "Casino Royale" is based on the first James Bond novel by legendary author, Ian Fleming. It was released in the U.K. on April 13, 1953 and became a huge success. From this novel, 11 stories were spawned from Fleming and James Bond was introduced to the world.
The story for the "Casino Royale" movie releasing this Friday remains the same but slightly altered in order to make it a more modern day version. Legendary screenwriter, Paul Haggis was involved in several parts of re-writing the script and making some of his own personal touches which every Bond fan appreciates as he is a talented writer.
In addition, 007 has a new face and it belongs to the talented British actor, Daniel Craig. Since the announcement much earlier in the year that Craig had won the role, the fan base of Bond was split into two. One half felt that Craig was a horrible choice while the other half felt he would be fantastic (I'm one of them). However, Craig pushed himself hard to make sure that he gave the best performance possible. It's excellent to hear that Craig's performance is so good, that most reviews are quoting him as the "...best Bond since Connery".
This is by far my most anticipated film of 2006 and from the early reviews, it looks like my expectations will be blown away. I was hoping that all of you would share your thoughts in this thread and what you're looking forward to seeing. I'm going to post the latest information and photos for the release of the film as the next few days go on. I'd love to hear input from any of you and how you feel about the film.
It's almost time everybody so go get your advanced tickets now and we'll see you at the theatre! :D Double-Oh-Zero and I will be seeing it on Saturday. When is everyone else seeing it?
