Is your ear effecting your brain? J/k, that is a script so um.. eh... yeah... *cough* *cough* It is not quiet asa ingenius as you think (or atleast at my opinion). So I guess every one has a bad case of writers block. Darn... /ubb/frown.gif

Dude! Don't you understand? You can't get ideas from other people! First of all, no one is gonna wanna give you their ideas because its THEIR IDEAS and they don't want someone to possibly ruin it or steal it.
#2 it just won't be any good if its not your own idea. I'm reading a book on screenwriting at the moment and it states that all scripts no matter how linear or unexperienced in that area u are, the script is still a personal tale. It is about you. And if you take an idea from someone else, it is no longer about u, therefore its not as good.

Here's a little way of thinking of ideas. Clear your mind. Try not to think of anything. The key is not to think to hard. Sometimes there will be something that interests you or something you've always wanted to do or wanted to know, write about that.

I'm having such a hard time trying to think of a script idea. I can't watch movies to get inspired, because I'll feel shitty knowing that it didn't come fresh out of my mind, with nothing else inspiring me. Writing is the funnest thing in the world, but I can't get to a starting point, but I know, I just know, that one of these days in the future, I'll have a point where I think of and ingenius script, and I'll say, YEs! I listen to heavy metal to think of ideas, but I think the ideas i come up with are stupid. one of these days...

No one is going to give you precice ideas for a feature film. But if you're writing a short film, I can give you an idea:

1. What is the most shameful, embarrasing thing that ever happened to you? Write a short film which is similar to that memory. I'm sure you will come up with something interesting.

2. What is the scariest thing ever happened to you? Write a story based on it.

...In general, you should get inspiration from your own life, not from movies. If you write stories based on other films, you end up creating something unoriginal. Just write something and film it with your friends on a crappy vhs-camera. It's wiser to start with short stories, because writing a script is hard and you should train yourself before writing anything really ambitious.

Ideas are by far the easyist thing for me. You have an imagination that was given to you for free. Explore it. Find what genre you like best and create a character - just one at first and then build a movie around this person. Once you have a semi sweet idea then choose an ending and work your way towards that ending scene by scene.

Screw it - here's one of my ideas that I've shelved for about a year.

A guy gets out of Prison

He is traveling by car across the country from Cali to NY

He walks into a convenience store and a chick suddenly holds the place up.

A cop comes in and she blows him away. She grabs the money and runs out, but her piece of shit boyfriend got scared from the gun fire and he takes off without her.

She's stuck so she puts a gun to the main guys head and tells him to drive her somewhere.

Now you have a story!!!!!

The ending now:

The Main guy was sent to Prison by a big wig business man in New York - thats why he is traveling across country is because he is going to go to New York and empty this guys vault in his office by breaking in of course.

The jist is basically that when he gets there, the girl and him hook up mid way and she decides to help him but actually she sets him up to get busted and she gets away with the money and he goes back to prison.

I gave this away because I've got a dozen other of these just floating through my mind.

USE YOUR IMAGINATION it's not that hard.
