Ok guys, we've all had it...Here is what I do when I get it.

1. I usually take a ride by myself out in the country, and sit on a hill.
2. Then I look around and make up stupid shite to write about.
3. Laugh at myself because I'm sitting on a hill, just to think of stupid shite to write about.
4. Close my eyes and use my imagination.
5. Fall asleep
6. Cuss all the way down the hill, because I fell asleep, and now it's dark.
7. Get scared because you never really know whats out there in the dark... in the country... alone...
8. Start thinking about all the things that are in the dark...
10. BAM--- Idea...
11. Sing all the way home because my block is over....
I don't write scripts, I write fictional horror, and I am doing some research on legends and ghost stories in the mid-west...this usually helps me out alot... The main thing I have to do is let the imagination run free.

If any body else has ideas-- please share.

I take my mind off of trying to think up of something. I take a bike ride, watch tv, read a book, fall asleep, in the meantime your unconscience mind is think up of something. In time, you'll get and idea. It worked for me. I made a few scenes of a movie. Cow commented saying, "The story is original but the dialouge is pooh pooh." I guess I need to work on it some. /ubb/biggrin.gif

This may sound kinda dangerous, but if I pass my self out, some really weird things come to my mind when i wake up about two seconds later. i listen to music while i do it, and then i hear the song in my mind and i create a music video for it. it's really weird.

I smoke a big fat joint...

and then go for a walk by myself, or else I'd get distracted.

I'm not saying everyone should do that but those of you who have - you know what I mean.

If you're stuck writing a movie and you don't know where the next scene should take place, right before you fall asleep is sometimes the best place your mind works.

Share where you are stumped with me and I'll try to help you. When I get stumped I always tell my wife where I'm at and she throws ideas at me.

My email is Tony.Lawrence@mail.sprint.com

email me anytime - it's my work e-mail and i'm there all day.

do something else.

i've gone weeks where i don't write a single thing. and i've also gone weeks where i don't do anything BUT write.

it comes and goes. go with it. don't miss out on what's going on around you by trying to defeat some phantom 'block.'

imho, this so-called 'writer's block' is just your brain telling you: 'hey, don't you think my imagination-cycling plant has been working overtime long enough? go do something else, for christ's sake, and let me get some rest, you freak.'

or something like that.

(or, if you're stephen king, just write about some guy with writer's block who is trying to get rid of his writer's block and make a couple of million.)

Recently, I've been attending movies merely for inspiration. I wanted a sinister, dark male for a piece of writing. I came home from Gladiator with a modern Commodus in my head. It's a little touch and go but if it works, it works well- trust me. You just know when it does because you can't stop describing that person.

Another thing I do to create atmosphere is to borrow a soundtrack that has a song played in a part of a movie that has the atmosphere that you want. I borrowed the Gone In 60 Seconds soundtrack for a chase scene in a story of mine. I also borrowed the End Of Days one for a scene at a rock concert. They both worked. So just go and see more movies and listen to more music!

This may seem kinda funny but just this morning I got a idea for a movie while brushing my teeth, (it's true!).
Bassically this guy gets confused for being a captian and starts to command a aircraf carrier for the US Navy, mishaps ensure. Good? Bad? So-so? One for the bin? who knows...
