I just got a report of the latest screenplays that got bought by big name film companies, and also those that sound like they have an interesting/original story...
'Tran-sister Radio' was just sold to Wes Craven's company, Wes Craven Films, (the screenplay will be adapted from the novel by Chris Bohjalian). It's about a lonely female teacher who decides to take a film class over the summer. There, she meets and falls in love with the male film-class teacher. All goes well for her until he reveals to her his decision of turning himself into a woman.
'The Bellboy' by Bradley Allenstein was sold to Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM). This is the updated remake of the 1960 Jerry Lewis movie. Jerry Lewis is set to co-produce, with Jackie Chan set to star in it.
'Love Simple' by Brent Boyd was sold to Paramount Pictures. It's a romantic-comedy about a scientist infected with a novel disease that lowers his IQ the more he falls in love with his girlfriend.
Sounds good? Sounds cheesy and think you can do better? Well, you probably can. Get cracking!
