i just bought a book called "The Filmmaker's Handbook", do any of you have it? is it usefull?

Who has written the book? There are quite a few books written under that name... Here are a few books about filmmaking that I would like to recommend:

Rebel without a crew by Robert Rodriguez. The greatest book about filmmaking ever in my mind. It might not be as "deep" as some others, but it's highly practical and has a great attitude. Three other books also come to mind:

On directing film by David Mamet

On filmmaking by Edward Dmytryk

Making movies by Sidney Lumet

All of the above are very intelligent books. I might disagree on some of their opinions, but generally they are very good and informative.
