I don't know how to write a script and I was wondering if anyone had tips on how to learn. I am hoping to write and direct a movie by sixteen, and if anyone could hel I would love it.

Dude, if you don't know how to write a script then you have a lot of work to do, unless you're like 6 yrs old, then you have ten years to practice.

What is it you would rather do, write or direct?

If it's direct, then my suggestion is to pick a script (an easy one to do, something low budget) that's already been turned into a movie, or you could even find someone elses script out there on the net that hasn't been made. Then practice by putting it on video.

If it's writing that you really want to do then I suggest you download a ton of scripts from this site or another script site and just read. That's the best way to learn the format.

There is a site called www.script-o-rama.com. (http://www.script-o-rama.com.) It's the biggest script site in the net, so you should got there and download scripts for your favorite movies. Read them and you will learn a lot about formatting etc.

Check out also screenwriting books written by Syd Field. I think they are very good.
