Many wannabe film directors have a huge belief, that they will be the next Scorcese, Tarantino or Fincher. I have worked hard to improve my skills for the last two years and I HAVE improved hugely. But I'm aware of the fact that I might simply lack the talent to ever make anything artistically important. I might be unable to make good full lenght film, let alone great. Filmmaking is extremely hard, a lot harder than most people think.

But if I lack the talent to make good films, I start making crap instead. With "crap" I mean low budget expoitation films with violence and T&A. I think I'm talented enough to make it in the straight to video exploitation market. I just love movies and think that directing is the greatest profession in the world. I would be great fun to make Roger Corman -esque low budgeters.

So the point is that even if I ain't the new Scorcese, I can still have fun ín the business. You shouldn't be disappointed if you never make it big. Many low budget directors are bitter, because they never got the recognition they wanted. I will be no problem for me. I just want to make 'em movies.

Comments, anyone?

There are people on this board who feel a great need to become filmmakers some day. Quentin has said several times that he WILL become a director, and a very good one. But Quentin, have you ever thought that maybe you just don't have the talent for it. What would you do then? Would you be highly disappointed?
