Attention all aspiring screenwriters,

You may or may not have heard of Matt Damon and Ben Affleck's pet side project. It's basically a contest where people get to submit their original script ideas and people who visit the site get to vote for the best ones. Grand prize winner takes home the rights to begin filming their movie, expenses paid. Miramax will be releasing the film and HBO will be filming the making of it. Sounds like a very cool idea and offers talented screenwriters the chance to finally get their work out in the open.

Contest officially begins September 25, the site is http://www.projectgreenlight.com/.

I guess it's time to finally dust off some of the ol' scripts and give it a shot.

Thanks drew but this site wont be useful to me im afraid coz they ask of u two things: 1) to be at least 18 & 2) to be a United States resident. Both of those things I'm not! Shit /ubb/frown.gif /ubb/frown.gif! I even registered and then read the "Contest Update" !!! /ubb/frown.gif

None-the-less thanks drew.

Do u know or anyone else for that matter sites similar with this one (No money involved)?
Thanks

sorry Movieman, I just managed to stumble upon this contest in particular. If I do happen to come across any others, I'll be sure to fill you in...

hmmmm, not really sure.

I don't believe they're offering an international division of the competition, it's open exclusively to residents of the U.S. My advice to you: Enter anyways, regardless of where you live, because alot of people will be reading the submitted scripts, even if it doesn't win, your's could get picked up by another studio.

I do imagine that this novel idea will undoubtedly spawn many more international contests of the same nature, it's just a question of time. Hope that helps.
