Answers to ODD situations?

I thought it would be a great idea to try and find answers to odd situations?

here is mine:
I am in the middle(actually 1/4) of a screenplay and I heard that a hollywood star(Quinten T......o) is about to do one of the same nature. Should I finish mine and go for let the best man win, or should i find another idea.?
