Traveler Part 02

[DaMovieMan]

Frank is very anxious to see what his partner has to show him and both men walk to the car - Johnny leading the way. They get to the car and Johnny puts his ciggy into his mouth and opens the trunk. He then pulls out a long metal box.

JOHNNY
Get a load of this!

FRANK
Come on man, you got my palms sweaty! What the fuck is it? Joe is probably a long way from us by now!

JOHNNY
Chill man, you're starting to get on my nerves. It's cool. Now check this out.

Johnny opens the box and takes out a big sniper rifle! The zooming part is especially big! Its huge and Frank is amazed!

FRANK
Holy fucking cow man! Where did u get that thing! This is the 50's i doubt you can get that on the market!

JOHNNY
No dumbass of course I didnt get it on the market! I found it one time when we were robbin' a little grocery store.

He starts loading it.

FRANK
Hey man what are you doing?

JOHNNY (with a wicked smile)
All good things need to be tested before used right? Well I'm just gonna test its zooming capabilities. Now I want you to walk away from me about 20 meters. O.K.?

FRANK (nervous)
Hey man come on, stop goofing around.

JOHNNY
Im not fucking goofing around man. This thing is not loaded I just wanna see if I can get a clear picture of the target I'm going to shoot. So do as I say and walk.

Frank thinks a bit then sighs and starts walking away from Johnny. A few minutes later Johnny shouts out "Stop" and aims at Frank.

FRANK (shouting)
Is it O.K.?

Johnny says nothing. We see the little cross aimed right at Frank's forehead. A few seconds of silence pass and Johnny pulls the trigger blowing Frank's brains out.

JOHNNY (to himself, with a evil smile)
Oops.

FADE OUT

FADE IN: Johnny, Frank and Martin.

JOHNNY
Jesus Frank, where’s your sense of adventure? (turning to Martin) Now get going!

Martin gives the two men one final look and then heads off into the woods. He is running as fast as he can and doesn't even think of turning around to see if Johnny and Frank are after him. After about 3 minutes of constant running he stops to take a breath. He hears some rustling in the bushes near by and thinks nothing of it at first but when they get louder he suspects something. He starts to look around and all of a sudden somebody pops out from around a near-by tree and hits Martin with something, leadind him to fall down unconscious.

FADE OUT

FADE IN: A man's face camouflaged in green looking closely at the man he just hit. Martin wakes up and gets scared at first from the other man's presence. After a short while he gets the courage to talk.

MARTIN
Who are you?

MAN
Name's Joe.

Martin immediately thinks if it is the same Joe that Johnny and his bud have mistaken him for, but since the man is totally colored in green he cant see if they look alike.

MARTIN
Why the hell did you hit me?

JOE
Sorry about that. You can never be too careful in these woods.

MARTIN
How long was I out of it anyway?

JOE
A couple of minutes.

MARTIN
My name is Martin by the way. (remembers) Shit! These two guys are after me and they gave me a ten minute start. I better be on my way.

Martin starts to walk away when Joe stops him by taking him by the arm.

JOE
Hold on a second man. These two guys your talking about how do they look like?

MARTIN
Well one is fairly tall, black hair, brown eyes and a bit scrowny and the other is a bit shorter with brown hair brown eyes and fairly built.

JOE
Yeah, those two guys were robbing this store once and stole my rifle!

MARTIN
Your wha-?

Martin is cut off by the familiar sound of car tyres growing nearer and nearer by the second!

Sorry guys, I haven't had a chance to finish the next part in the story. I've been pretty busy as of late...

Guys I have been reading, and must say am impressed - until - I got lost who is the antagonist, protagonist and will there be a love interest.

Damovieman- your first scene is a RIP-OFF The Jackal. but you made it cool.

It is only NOW that i relize that it does resemble the scene in The Jackal! You guys shouldnt think (if u do) that i would rip-off something from a movie or anywhere else.
It's simply not my style.
As for you Junior thanks for the compliment and i dont c any problem of u joining the cycle after drew the doc. Then again Nightflyer is the man to ask this so it's his decision.

I love these types of online games, guys, but I would feel really out of place jumping in this late. I would like to participate, though. I think everybody should. Great fun.

Are there going to be more stories for everybody to work out?

I am interested but we are still waiting for drew to write his part. Where are you drew?

McMurphy - i dont know. We'll see. Hopefully we should finish this story up soon and then we can decide on the future. But then again Nightflyer is the main guy with the idea so he should answer it.

[doctor drew]

As the squealing tires grow ever so closer, we see Martin and Joe begin to discuss their plan of action.

MARTIN
C’mon! We’ve got to get outta here, they’re going to come back!

JOE
Now hold on a second there, son. I ain’t running from nobody, I got business to straighten out with these fellas.

MARTIN (sweating)
Are you sick? They’ve got guns and..

Joe abruptly cuts him off.

JOE
So do we.

Joe points to a hunting shotgun and pushes his camouflage coat back to reveal two handguns. Joe gives Martin one of the pistols.

JOE
Ever used one of these before?

MARTIN (visibly shaken)
Umm, no.

JOE
It’s real easy, you just point and shoot, simple enough, right?

MARTIN (stuttering)
S-S-Sure.

JOE
Alright now, here’s the thing. When he makes his way around, you flank over on the right side, I’ll be over here. Open fire on the car, aim for the tires or the driver, let me take care of the rest.

We see the car approaching in the distance. A close-up shot of the hood reveals Frank (looking visibly worried) riding shotgun with Johnny behind the wheel. Johnny is clutching the wheel at 10 and 2, looking very, very mad. The car is now within 100 yards.

MARTIN
Do I shoot now?

JOE
No godammit! Wait for me to tell you when.

We see the car come within 50 yards. Frank is now hanging out of the passenger side window with a gun in his hand. He begins to open fire on Joe, not noticing Martin on his other side.

MARTIN (shouting)
Now?

JOE
YES!

Martin begins to unload his round onto the car. One slug catches Frank in his shoulder, spinning him backward. Two more hit the car, one blowing out the front tire. The car wavers wildly, losing control. Frank resumes shooting and hits Joe in the leg.

JOE (grimacing)
Sonofabitch!

The car moves past the two and continues down the road. It stops and we see the car make a U-turn. It’s preparing to make another run. We see Johnny hit the gas pedal and the tires squeal on the pavement.

JOHNNY (cackling)
No more games.

The car begins to pick up speed and is headed directly for Joe, who’s immobile because of the bullet wound in his leg.

MARTIN
Joe, get out of the way!

FADE IN:

With only moments to react, Martin double times it over and slides one arm underneath Johnny’s armpit and up over his shoulder and with all his strength he trusts Johnny out of harms way. They both tumble to the ground, just narrowly avoiding the impact of the car, which speeds by.

As the car glides by, narrowly missing it’s target it hit’s an embankment and veers of into a large tree stump and slams into it hard. The bonnet buckles and the engine begins to catch fire. In the front seats Joe and Frank have blood dripping from the faces, Frank also has blood pouring from his shoulder wound. They both have hit the dashboard are both now unconscious, Johnny’s head is slumped over on the wheel, while Joe is slouched over in the passenger chair.

In the background Martin gets to his feet and places one of the handguns into the back of his trousers, the other he holds onto and begins to walk up to the car. Before he does he looks down to Johnny, who is clenching his leg and trying to stop the bleeding.

MARTIN
Time to finish this.

He then walks off.

FADE OUT:

FADE IN:

Martin is walking up to the car. The cars motor is now on fire; the flames are penetrating the bonnet and sprawling out its side.

Martin places the gun out in front and comes up behind the passenger side door. He looks in the windows and sees no movement, though he is still cautious. He still holds the gun up and is taking no risks. He now is at the rear of the car and makes his way down to the passenger side door, and looks in to see both occupants incapacitated.

MARTIN
Not so tough now are we?

As he says that the passenger side door flies open and catches his hand, sending the gun flying of into the shrub. Frank gets out, still clutching his own weapon.

FRANK
No so cocky now are ya, you little fuck.

Martin clutching his hand from the door impact slowly walks backwards.

MARTIN
Look, this is all a big misunderstanding. I’m not Johnny my name is Martin Peterson, and I don’t even know you.

FRANK
I don’t care who you are; you double-crossed me and now pay.

From behind the car Johnny comes around and yells out to get Franks attention, and it works. Frank turns to see him and spins his weapon around and takes aim.

In that time Martin drops to his knees and reaches with is right hand to get the handgun tucked in his trousers. Now with it in his hand, he brings it around and places both hands around the handle and takes aim. Franks sees this at the last minute and is about to bring his weapon back around to Martin, but he hasn’t enough time.

Martin fires!!

The bullet flies out the chamber at tremendous speed and impacts in the side of Frank’s head. The bullet tares through his skull, then through his brain and finishes up punching though the other side spurting blood and brain fragments out the exit wound. (Sorry if it’s a little graphic)

Frank’s limp body falls and hits the ground with a thump.

Martin looks down at what he has done, and he is flawed. Johnny comes up beside, dragging his leg.

JOHNNY
You had no choice; he was going to kill you.

MARTIN
I.. I.

He finds it had to say the words

MARTIN (Cont)
I know, but it still hurts.

JOHNNY
That’s good.

Martin I surprised by Johnny’s statement.

MARTIN
Good, what is good about it?

JOHNNY
If you feel pain, you haven’t become what they where, killers.

MARTIN
But I have.

Johnny grabs his shoulder and shoves him around to face him.

JOHNNY
No, you killed to save yourself. You defended yourself and you saved my life in the process. That makes you a hero, not a killer.

On the other side of the car, Joe gets out of the door and makes a run for it. He has no weapon and he is injured so he knows he would not win. So instead he does what any coward would RUN.

Johnny and Martin look around and see him make a run for it,

MARTIN
What about him?

JOHNNY
He wont get far, the jungle doesn’t favor the stupid.

Martin smiles a little and then he places his hand under Johnny’s shoulder to help him support himself. Then the both make their way back down the road.

Once a fair way up the road the car explodes and sends a large fireball upwards.

FADE OUT:


FADE IN:

A local hospital, Martin places Johnny on a bed.

MARTIN
Thank you for all your help.

JOHNNY
You’re welcome and thank you for saving my life.

Johnny pauses a minute

JOHNNY (Cont)
It’s time for you to go back.

MARTIN
Back, back where?

As he begins Martin grabs onto his head, he feels a sharp pain and his muscles begin to contract. As this happens he watches as the image of Johnny and the hospital begin to fade out.

FADE TO BLACK


FADE IN:

Martins BMW is on the side of the road and he is in the drivers seat. He comes to when his alarm clock on his wristwatch goes of.

Looking around Martin doesn’t recall where he is; he steps out of his car and looks around to find there is nothing but open road and bush land. He is unsure as to what has just accorded to him; was it a dream or was it reality, he did not know. So he got back into his car, started the ignition and pulled out onto the highway.

Next destination unknown.

Ok i dont know if anybody else noticed this but there is something terribly wrong here. We misunderstood each other or something i dont know. First of all Doctor drew said that Frank was alive while i made it in my part that Johnny killed him (remember the sniper?) and second, Nightflyer mixed up Johnny and Joe and so in his post Johnny was Joe the guy in the car and Joe was Johnny the guy with the wounded leg. Now it might be me and u guys maybe did it on purpose but please explain coz i'm confused!!

You know, I read that part like 10 times trying figure out what exactly happened. The way I saw it, the sniper murder scene was just a dream, it never really happened. This was reinforced by the Fade out, and Fade in, then Johhny actually speaks to Frank..I figured he was still alive. Sometimes these "chain" stories get a little screwy! Can you clarify damovieman?

This is my clarification doctor:
The thing that happend was that Johnny went to show Frank the gun and just tested it at him i.e. killed him and then we went back to the point where Martin and the two guys seperated and this time followed Martin and not Johnny and Frank. In other words we saw what happend to both sides (one being Martin and the other the two guys) after Johnny told Martin to run(think Tarantino). So Frank is dead from my part.

Now maybe i shouldnt of used Fade maybe i should of used Cut and maybe i should of used time so we see that we went back at one stage, i dont know. But it would be silly if it were all a imagination there is no point to that.
I dont know what we're going to do now!!

Jhonny shot him, took the money and commented sarcastically by saying jesus frank what happened.

SO FRANK SHOULD BE DEAD. anyways not much time so peace.

Eh, I was kinda leading towards the way of an action/drama to start out...but thats just me. Since I was like the last to join or whatever it doesn't matter. Anything is fine with me.
