I have this problem with moviemakers who waste millions of millions of dosh on special-effects ladened movies which mean nothing and then deny independent geniuses who are asking for a mear $15,000 to make a masterpiece only to be rejected with the reply - "IT'S TOO SMALL". Would anyone care to join my petition against big-budget moviemakers who quite frankly suck? If so Post your agreement below this message. Merci.

Definitely agreed. I'm right now on my way to make my first full lenght film. I have so far eight short films, six music videos and countless of commercials and TV programs under my belt.
It's basicly a ultra low budget scifi/splatter exploitation movie for the video market. We are going to do it with finnish actors but with english dialogue. That means that we have to keep dialogue in minumum and everything will be dubbed by english speaking actors. At least we have the lip-sync ready... This is one of the annying things about living in Finland. The local market is so small (5 million people) that it makes no sense to make this kind of film in finnish.
We will shoot the film on Digital Video and filter it with computer to look like 16mm film. After the film is ready we try to sell it in states. So far we have done only special effects testing... They are looking pretty cool. I will probably post some pictures in here quite soon.
Of course I don't know yet if we can pull it off. But even if the film will never be finished, I have plenty of time... I'm only 24 years old so I still have decades of time to make my debut film.
Anyway, we are testing the SFX right now. When we know what we can do, we will write the final script. We already have a couple of pretty good synopsises. We will start the shooting by making the first 5 minute scene of the film, which will also work as a short film. If everything goes well, we will make the full lenght film. If not, we will be happy with the short film and forget about the rest 85 minutes.

We have now finished the script for the 15 minute short film which will work as a pre-credit sequence for a full lenght film (If we will make one). I have also already done some SFX for the flick and it's looking good.
I'm happy with the script and the few people who have read it like it. But I don't have a proper title for the film yet. Here is a suggestion I have:
"Guardian Of the Dark"
...What do you think about it?

Tuukka,
Give us a quick pitch of what it's about so we can then decide if your title is a good one or not.

Well, it's a scifi-splatter-action-horror film with lots of laconic humour.
We have so far written only the first fifteen minutes. I will make it as a short film, and if it works we start making the full lenght script. I have quite precise ideas what the 90 minute film would be about, but I don't have an exact storyline.
Basicly it happens in an artificial structure, which has dozens of different size "worlds" inside it. A bit like the one in Truman Show. Mostly we shoot on modern day worlds (because of the budget), but we are also building more fantastical scifi worlds with the help of digital matte paintings and CGI animation.
It tells about several people who try to get a small alien artifact, which works as a key to a place built by an alien race. Without the key nobody can enter.
"The Guardian Of The Dark" of the title could be considered either as the artifact, or the alien place.
I'm simply asking, that does the title sound cool to you?

By the way, does anyone know any netsites where users can put their own JPEG pictures visible? I would love to show some of my SFX pictures in here, but they have to be on some other site, before I can make the link with UBB Code.

Yeah,
I dig the title. It fits. What also comes to mind is "Keyless Entry"
anyway. In reference to your question about the JPEG pictures and the UBB code - I would almost post that somewhere else so it will get more visibility and probably get answered quicker.

I went to Google and tried to find a suitable site... It took about 30 seconds. I made an own photo album to place called www.zing.com. (http://www.zing.com.) Here are some pictures:

Many of these pictures are still unfinished. So far I have done only 2D animation for them:
The three pictures with the city have all around 40-60 small spaceships flying around. Two of them also have some CGI rain to make them look more realistic. The nebulae has animated clouds moving. The fairy tale place has an animated space ship.
I'm at the moment waiting that my 3D animator friend finishes with a Blade Runner / Fifth Element type flying car.
