I'm trying to find this old made for TV movie (early 90s or it was made in the 80s) that followed the story about the family being haunted by a ghost and it followed them wherever it went (based on a true story), Mainly remember it because the ghost looked really scary in it (some kind of shadowy thing) and had this one scene where it goes across the house in broad daylight and another scene where the family is out camping and the ghost appears. I thought it was called "The Haunting" (yeah I know that's the same title as two other movies) or something like that

The Haunted is classic - I remember shitting myself when I first saw it.

Yup that's the one. I was able to find the scene with the ghost in the kitchen on youtube. Too bad this movie isn't out on DVD it was really spooky, I don't remember the part about the dad getting raped though....
