Alright so Funny Games is this movie that was released around 1997 I believe. Anyways I was wondering what people's opinions of this movie were without giving away any spoilers or what not as I have yet to see the movie. (Although by reading reviews I think I've unintentionally figured them all out.) Anyways my main point of this thread is getting help on seeing the movie. I can't seem to find a place to download it or watch it online. I would rent it, but I don't have the luxury of transportation and other things and I believe the film is quite rare to find. Also I heard the film is good, but very disturbing. But I also heard you don't actually see that much of the violence as it occurs off screen. So I'm curious, just how disturbing the movie is and how much it could possibly screw me up. But basically the main point is if tere is a way you can lead me to a place I can watch or download the movie it would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Not a film that you need to watch more than once due to it's content and message.
However it's pretty good but be warned if you are to watch it be prepared for something bleak and sober.
It's not expclit but it is chilling the method of which Henke(probably misspelled his name) delievers the horror sticks close to how a horror film should be made(in my opinion).
It's a social comentory about sensationlism of violence which has been called by some as a arogent swipe at the auidence.
I didn't think this but it's up to the individual to make thier minds up as that is how the movie is designed.
A cut above the rest of movies of this ilk but unl;ess you really enjoy the directors stuff or collect films that unnerve in this manner than one viewing should surffice.
I would advise you not to buy it unless you find it for cheap borrow or rent if you get the chance where you are.
If not downloading is a good idea like you said you may find it harder to get hold of online due to it being a Austrian film and I am not to sure how U.S online rental places are with non-U.S picture.
Good luck hunting it down anyhow :)

Thanks CC. I was going to go with downloading it, but like I said I just can't seem to find a place to do it, I tried googling it and I tried Limewire but nothing. Also I heard the movie is in a different language, and I would hate to spend the time downloading a fairly long movie and then it doesn't have english sub titles for me to read. Ultimately this lead me here as I figured movie buffs like you might be able to help me locate it. Mentally wise I think I'm ready for it and have some idea of what to expect without being too disturbed.

That's really harsh I heard that some parts of the U.S make it difficult for people to see foriegn films.
The only alturntive I can think of is joining an online rentel place where you ethier get the films ready of download for a limited time to watch or have them sent to your house for a limited period.
I don't know if it helps but they are remaking Funny Games and it should get a better realese. I dispise 90% of remakes however if it means you get to see the film as opposed to not at all it would be worth checking out.
I will try and get you a link to an online rentel place.
Good Luck ;)

Not really explicit at all and surprisingly restrained considering the subject matter but it without a doubt one of the most disturbing films I've ever seen. I actually had trouble going to bed after watching this. A brilliant film with some amazing directing by Haneke but be prepared for it.

Thanks guys. I guess I could try an online rental place to try and find it, but I'm not quite sure how they work and what not. I've heard people having trouble sleeping after this movie even though its not explicit, which makes me even more curious about it. Like I said I think I could take it, but then again the most "disturbing" movie I've seen is Hostel and people said that doesn't even begin to compare to some movies.
