I love watching movies that have that give you that feeling of dread while watching them. Some suggestions would be really appreciated cause I've only seen a few. I know John Carpenter movies are usually like this, but I can't really seem to find too many others. And they don't have to be horror movies either.

28 Days Later was the first film that came to mind.

Pretty much any Zombie movie aside from the remake of Day of the Dead. Thats oen of the whole things about Zombies is that they are slow and easy to get around in open areas but the never stop coming for you and their weight in numbers alone makes them able to break into anyplace you can hide pretty much. So theres almost always a feeling of dread in Zombie movies casue although it takes forever for them to get ya they will get ya and its only a matter of time ;)

Good recommendations so far. In the horror vein a couple Id say are: Invasion of The Body Snatchers (Original 50's or remake 70's) and maybe the original War Of The Worlds; and newer - Silent Hill.
Outside of that, not so horror-esque perse: Apocalypse Now.

I thought about Texas Chainsaw Massacre - The Beginning, because if you think about it, no one can survive.

I had a feeling of dread watching The Blair Witch Project (the tent scene and a bit after it, as well as the last 3 minutes or so)... Also parts of High Tension were a bit dreadful, not knowing what the fuck was going to happen to the "friend".

The Vanishing-Definitely try to check out this one. Make sure you see the original Dutch/French version, and not the American remake of the same name.

Yeah isn't the dread the whole selling point of that movie??

The original Wicker Man had a great sense of dread even with all of the songs and the creepily happy people on the island.
Pet Sematary
Despite the stupid animal killings, one of the only worthwhile parts of Cannibal Holocaust is the incredible atmosphere of dread.
The Descent
Alien
Phantasm

Some movies that made me experience dread...
A Tale Of Two Sisters
Shutter
Ringu
Kairo
Session 9
The Shining
The Woman In Black
The Others
Ju-On
Alien
Don't Look Now
And probably loads more. I like a good scare me. But it's easy to make someone jump with a sudden scare. It's less easy to make someone feel dread. So I think it's testement to a directors understanding of both the genre and his craft when his movies succeeds in this area.
