I just got a 50 dollar Best Buy gift card and I have no idea which movie to spend it on. I have a few ideas, like Rififi - Criterion Collection or Spartacus - Criterion Collection or Rashomon - Cri Collection... Which would you all choose?

i would go rashomon, but to be honest thats only cuz i like kurosawa

Ironically, Rashamon is the only AK film I don't have, that is out of the samurai epic stuff. But even so, I would go with that too.

I have Rififi Criterion and Rashomon Criterion and I love them both. Have not seen the Spartacus Criterion, though I've seen the movie.

I dunno...if you have nothing by Kurosawa, I would choose Seven Samurai as a starting place.

Cliche? Yes. But it's also a very good choice.

The Bad Sleep Well is one of my favorite Kurosawa flicks. But it's not a great Criterion.
