im a student of stand up, it is one of my goals, i want to do stand up, and i watch Stand Up non stop and go to the clubs to watch it, and i study it all the time!

Just wondering what DVD's there are out there?

I Have:

My all time favorite comedian is MITCH HEDBERG... RIP... i had tickets to go to his show on the saturday after he died, he Died on a Friday. But this Demetri martin has a similar style without it being a rip off, and i am really enjoying this kids style and timing and he is going to be a big star i think, cuz he is hilarious.

I already know that i need ot get the George Carlin discs and Sam Kinson.. but what else is out there that you all would recommend?

The Comedians of Comedy. The movie follows Patton Oswalt, Brian Posehn, Maria Bamford, and Zach Galifianakis (who is fucking hilarious) as they travel the country with their stand up comedy, it's great. It's also a show on Comedy Central now.

Try to get your hands on the Stephen Lynch "Live at the El Rey" special.

Here's his Comedy Central Presents special:

Martin Lawrence has one or two.

George Lopez "Why you crying?"

I'm not sure if their inprint or not but Bill Cosby has a few.

Margrit Cho has 3 highly accaliamed ones or so.

Jeff Foxworthy and Larry The Cable Guy et al. have a series of DVDs called something to the effect of "Redneck Tour".

Speaking of tours there's also a "Insomniac Tour" series of DVDs.

The DefJam record label has a DVD series out there called I believe "Def Comedy Jam".

Marlon Wayans (if I have the name right) has a couple too.

I forget his name but one particular stand up has one called "I say nay, nay!" and one other whose title I forget.

P.S.
If you can afford it attend the "Just For Laughs" festival in Montreal Canada. It happens every July if I'm not mistaken and it's the worlds largest comedy festival! Lots and lots of stand ups come to perform there and it's that way every year!

Dave Attell's Insomniac Tour DVD is pretty damn good.

It features four comedians (including Dave). Dane Cook has what I consider one of his greatest performances at the end of the disc. My favorite is Dane's delivery on his story about the first time he got a BJ. HILARIOUS!!!!
