Cool. I don't own it but I think the region 2 version of DEEP RED is CUT and the region 1 edition is quite old now so it'll be good to check out a reissue.

What the fuck happened to the proposed UNCUT version of My Bloody Valentine? John Dunning claimed to have footage of the cut scenes and was hoping to release the full uncut version in 2006!!!:(

from my understanding they were going to incorporate the old footage into a sequel to mbv, but they couldn't get any interest in it.

Here, fucking here!!! The gore factor can't always make for a decent horror, but this could be one of the better slashers in existence if it included a few amped up kills. :D

From my friends over at Retroslashers.net:
My Bloody Valentine 2
Charles Dunning, rights holder of any MBV sequel, has a treatment and/or script which takes place in an amusement park built where the original mine killing occured. Cut gore footage was to inserted into the film. But nothing has happened so far with this project, so keep hoping.
John over there knows better then me so there you go.

Dito, I'm keeping an eye out for this one too. Although I wonder what the hell kept them to release it in the right format and uncut in the first place?? Anyhow, I'd rather see that footage incorporated in a good-looking version.

the only uncut version they could find at the time of the previous release was a poor quality fullscreen vhs hence the crappiness of it (and also why i didnt buy it) so im hoping they found a nice print somewhere :)
(my fingers are still tightly crossed and starting to hurt :()

No way??! They had it on vhs??! I heard the reason why it's been so difficult to find is because they thought the footage was only ever on film and was lost once the original cuts were made!!! The theatrical version was the only print in existence until some dude (the director?) found an uncut print in his cellar or something??!

Hey guys, also due out on 2/27 (not listed above) is Fulci's City Of The Living Dead, re-released by Blue Underground.
And apparently...Lizard In A Woman's Skin is already out? Amazon.com has it available, and the listing says it was released 2/6. Don't know how I missed that one..?

I could be wrong but it may be talking about the 2 disc version of Lizard which had the cut ws print and the unrated full frame version. The new one is from a recently found superior (and unrated) negative.
cheerio.

im not sure why its been so difficult to find but the uncut version they released in the 2 disc set was taken from a tape source

I'm also quite active in the forum :D
From the review:
"As for the uncut footage everyone has been waiting to see – it seems culled from another print, but fits in very nicely. The colors are slightly more saturated, and thus the contrast a little greater, so detail suffers a tad. But unless you are looking for it, you won’t notice a thing."
So not a uncut print exactly, but looks good and hearing all my fellow horror geeks rave about it is getting me excited.

Sorry to confuse you...no My Bloody Valentine has not seen a uncut release in any region in the world. We hold hope the producers will be able to release it in some form in the near future.
However, a remastered uncut version of lizard in a woman's skin is being released in march.

No...actually guys, the new remastered Lizard is currently available, even though the release date says it's not for a couple weeks yet. I just got my copy in the mail today. Stop waiting for that March release date, order it today - Remastered Lizard (http://www.amazon.com/Lizard-Womans-Skin/dp/B000IMVE5A/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/002-4910285-3712064?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1172900198&sr=1-1). The artwork is different than what's shown on Amazon's listing, though.

Fuck MGM! I've just discovered that SCARECROWS will NOT be getting the SE treatment. According to Fango, due to unfortunate circumstances William Wesley is unable to do the promised commentary track.
MGM should postpone this release until Wesley and FX guru Norman Cabera are available to record their commentary tracks.
Instead we can look forward to a bare-bones release with shitty fecking artwork! Up yours MGM!!
