Warner Bros has reportedly moved to snap up a script for a Wonder Woman movie, written by rookie scriptwriters Matthew Jennison and Brent Strickland. The studio is believed to be already involved in a separate Wonder Woman picture that is being developed by Buffy creator Joss Whedon and producer Joel Silver. The Hollywood Reporter quotes sources that imply the studio is buying the Jennison-Strickland screenplay as a pre-emptive measure to remove it from the market. Early reports suggest that there are few similarities between the two projects. Where the Jennison-Strickland adventure is apparently set during the second world war, the Whedon version has a contemporary backdrop.
