I've been on a big Kamelot kick lately. Most people who've heard of them is because of their last album The Black Halo, which is an awesome CD. They just had a live DVD out and it is impressive.

Dragonforce is the one power metal band that's been getting a lot of attention lately. I feel Kamelot is vastly superior, but different in a way. Dragonforce is all about speed, Kamelot isn't.

Kamelot's singer, Roy Kahn, reminds me of a cross between Freddie Mercury and a young Don Dokken. One of the best voices in metal.

NEVER MENTION DRAGONFORCE!! Sorry expecially in a Kamelot thread. I love Kamelot but to me Blind Guardian defeats Kamelot. Kamelot reminds me more of a band that can work well in the mainstream media but has not directly made it. They have this Gothic influence to their music that is interesting expecially considering they are more of a Power Metal band then a Gothic Metal Band like Tristania. Anyway I personally say I like them a lot. They have a feel I like in music. Over all they may not be the most talented band but they have a unique feeling to their music. I prefer their newer stuff. The vocalist Roy had horrible vocals in the past. He really changed with The Black Halo CD and I am glad. I am hoping to eventually catch them on tour. :D
