Hey everybody,

It's actually happening and I'm ready to piss my shorts for sure. The final release date for the most anticipated sequel of all-time is coming on May 22, 2008 which lies right on Memorial weekend which is perfect. It may be going up against "Speed Racer" but I highly doubt that now because we all know who the cash cow will be that weekend. I might end up seeing "Indy IV" like 20 times that weekend. :D

Here is the link for the info:

I absolutely cannot wait!

As much as I love Indy this just sounds like it could terribly wrong very very easily.

I'll at least wait until I see a trailer before I pass judgment.

Agreed!:D

This movie has the potential to be really good, or suck major balls!

I x2 the notion to wait on the trailer!

Wasn't Star Wars Episode 1, the most anticipated sequel?

Well I'll join the party and play cynic for a second...

The only thing that might let this film down is the screenplay by David Keopp. Keopp turned the last third of Spielberg's War of the Worlds into a long scene in a wet basement with crazy-ass Tim Robbins. But for a "go to guy", he's usually good at composing a solid screenplay that hits the right beats. A lot lies with the script for this film. It he doesn't cook up an awesome idea for the plot then we are screwed.

I have a lot of faith in Spielberg; as of late I thought Munich was good to very good, and was superbly shot, and War of the Worlds is pretty brilliant for about an hour before it peters out. Still I thought the "big" scenes had unbelievable tension and the action was extremely intense. The guy is one hell of a great filmmaker. Indy 4 will be a test to see if he can still tell a great story. So hopefully the script delivers.

I say bring it on.

Have they announced what kinda of wheelchair Indy will be using this? Or he just gonna go with a walker?

Someone please tell me, I need to know!

^^For real! I wonder the same thing! Isn't Harrison Ford like 70 years old now?! And isn't Sean Connery suppose to be in it too?

:D http://phpbb.loercks.net/phpBB/images/avatars/472.gif I usually don't laugh at this sort of comment but that was to funny. As much as I truly fancy the original trilogy and Indy I don't want that forth. Rocky Balboa's success must've motivated those older guys to really go at it again.

Agent out!

I believe he's 62. A bit old, but he's been trying to keep in shape in order to do the flick.

I'm still a bit skeptic...but then I think, come on...it's Spielberg! I will admit, now that this thing seems concrete, the idea of seeing Indy on the big screen has really brought out the Indy geek in me.

But, I don't wanna get too excited until some mo' fuckin' footage is out.

And even though it was just a rumour...having Clint as a villain...OMG

A friend of mine told me about that. That would be the coolest thing ever. That and Spielberg are the only things holding me to seeing this movie. I'm so against this idea. If this was announced in like, 93 or 94, I would be all over this. They better be throwing in a lot of old/grandpa jokes in this flick.

I’m pumped as hell for this flick, but I’m also a little worried.

Here is what scares me about Indiana Jones 4:

1) That Harrison Ford’s actual age is going to play to much into the Indy 4 script due to the lame ass media making such a big deal about Ford’s age. It’s fantasy, I hope they keep it that way and not make Indy seem like an old geezer. Ford can easily pass himself off as someone in his early to mid fifties.

2) David Koepp. He can churn out great stuff and he can shit out some stinkers, so this guy is a big question mark for me.

3) George Lucas. He went insane, its that simple. Maybe he’ll be a better producer then director, but this new version of Lucas is just no fun at all. Seriously, for the Star Wars prequels he sucked out all the fun found in the originals and replaced it with way too much serious melodrama and political babble.

4) I don’t was to see too much CGI, if any at all. I don’t want Indy 4 to turn into a big Pixar cartoon like Episode III did. Spielberg has yet to let me down in the CGI department but Lucas is another story. Poor old George just doesn’t know how to use CGI and doesn’t seem to be able to control himself once he starts. Lucas wants to be known as the guy who changed film with his “CGI revolution”. Sorry dude, you tried and failed. If anyone’s going to create the next revolution for film it’s going to be James Cameron with Avatar. For Indy 4 I want to see real locations, real stunts, and real explosions.

5) I don’t want to see Indy 4 shot on the digital video that Lucas loves so much. Yeah, it’s true that digital “film” cameras now look 100% better then what Lucas used for Episode III, but digital still looks different then film and I honestly want the nostalgia of film when watching Indy 4.

George Lucas has *always* been a better producer than director. Hence why the original Star Wars and Indiana Jones are so great.

Ok seeing how Lucas fucked up the first three star wars movies and by that I mean "Phantom Menace", "Clones" and "Sth" (which I thought was his best one: OF THE NEW ONES!) I am a little sceptical of this. Although I am still a little excited to see a trailer and what could be

It's Spielberg though. Spielberg.

I guess I'll just pose the argument I previously wrote on the main page.

While I still very much doubt this will ever get off the ground, I suppose I will succumb to their taunts and get excited.

And, to jump into the current discussion, I was under the impression that the grail only dramatically slowed the aging process, as seen by the Knight Templar (to which one could assume than in order to live FOREVER you have to constistently drink from the cup, opposed to the Knight Templar who only did so every so often to sustain himself)so in all actuality we could have a modern day Indiana, who only looks a few decades older.

Well, what do you guys think?

gyro_44
02-07-2007, 06:48 PM
That's a possibility, but what I think they might do is just make light of the age factor - hopefully not to a point where Indy says "I'm way too old for this shit" every 20 minutes, but that's doubtful to me. I think they'll point out that Indiana is getting old and it will be a source of some humor, and there's no reason to believe that just because he is 60 years old he won't kick some ass.

I've seen Rocky Balboa, and if THAT movie can convince me that a old fart can still beat the shit out of someone, then I bet you Indiana Jones 4 can.

Yeah, I think it'll be good to have a few "old ages" jokes throughout the film, but I hope it doesn't become the main source of humour.

I can see it working if like Jones Sr. cracks most of the old age jokes.

Ummm...he directed the original Star Wars. ;)

The prequels were supposed to be the fall of a galaxy into the depths of darkness. It's not meant to be a fun subject. The latter films, on the other hand, are about the rise of good and thus are more hopeful and fun.

As far as Indiana Jones goes, I can't flippin wait. I have no doubt that Spielberg, Lucas, Ford and Koepp are going to deliver something spectacular.

I can't wait, have been waiting for years for them to make another Indy movie. I think Harrison Ford still has one more Indy film in him.

I love you Harrison Ford :

Harrison Ford has threatened to quit the new Indiana Jones movie, unless he gets to use a real whip.

The 64-year-old actor, who plays the daredevil archaeologist, was told the weapon would have to be computer generated because of new film safety rules.

Harrison branded the rule "ridiculous" and said he would pull out of the film if he couldn't wield his whip.

A source said: "The idea was to take away the risk element the whip carries.

"Safety laws have changed since the last film and movie makers have to be much more careful. Now they use computer graphics for any dangerous stuff."

Harrison was 39-years-old when the first Indiana Jones movie, 'Raiders Of The Lost Ark' was released in 1981.

'The Temple Of Doom' followed in 1983 and 'The Last Crusade' five years later. The trilogy made more than £600 million at the box office.

The fourth movie is due for release next year.

I heard that was just a rumor that the whip would not be CG. If they did that, I'd have to kill someone. Probably Lucas.
