UH OH....."Gremlins 3" and "Goonies 2".....going straight to DVD??

Apparently Warner Bros. is starting a new branch that only does straight-to-DVD releases. And apparently two of the 'big' releases are going to be "Gremlins 3" and "Goonies 2", both long-awaited sequels.

If "Goonies 2" is straight-to-DVD, I`m assuming it`ll have an all-new cast and will have very little to do with the original.

I`d love "Gremlins 3" and "Goonies 2" (if done right) to be made........BUT NOT STRAIGHT-TO-DVD!!!!

In addition, apprently Joe Dante won`t be involved in "Gremlins 3" (WARNING! WARNING! WARNING!), and the creatures will be all CGI......which is precisely why Dante doesn`t want involved.

They are also considering DVD sequels to "Weird Science" and "The Lost Boys"......which, again, will probably have nothing to do with the originals.

Right now this is just rumor.....and I hope it stays that way.

CGI Gremlins? That would suck! That would be like if the little hairy monsters in "Critters" were CGI that would have sucked! The puppets were what made them cool especially when you kill them!

I hope the sequels to Gonnies and Gremlins are never made if they are straight to DVD. If WB is gonna do a sequel to either of these classics do it right with the original cast and directors and not some half assed straight to DVD bullshit.

Goonies 2 is just a dumb idea. If they wanted to do a sequel, they should've done one following the original. A new cast of kids won't be the same and it'll more than likely be more of a remake than a sequel.

Another Gremlins isn't so bad because the gremlins are fun and cool to watch and don't necessarily need the cast returning. Although I think the creatures should be the puppets again, and not CGI, I'd still be interested in checking it out. Will have to wait and see though.

Hopefull these movies are never released. CGI Gremlins would be as terrible as CGI TMNT...oh wait, they already ruined that one
