You can view the article here (http://movies.ign.com/articles/762/762947p1.html):
"It has been revealed, some eight months after the project was first announced, that the film adaptation of the popular videogame Metal Gear Solid is being spearheaded by Sony Pictures."
Good to see the ball get rolling on this! :D

When you think about it, Sony Pictures picking it up just makes perfect sense.

This is the first game adaptation whose source material actually has a good cinema-worthy story.

Sony, duh.
But then again, Halo had a movie studio too...
I never played a Metal Gear game - aren't the stories notoriously loopy?

Loopy as in cyclical, or loopy as in crazy and confusing?
Other than some exaggerated characters, both the first and third games are fairly straightfoward and easy to follow. The second MGS game is a bit more confusing and definitely wouldn't make a good movie, IMO.

I know I'm prolly on my own in this one (much like my passion for the sequel itself) but I really think the second game would make a great film. The first game is much more deserving though. Snakeater is just shit.

I've honestly never played the game but it does look pretty wicked for sure.
I'm probably the only one on this forum who has never owned a Playstation.
