"Gremlins 3" and "Goonies 2".......straight-to-DVD?????

***I already posted this in 'Upcoming Movie Talk', but I thought I`d post it here too in case anyone missed it. I hope this is fake news, cause if it`s true I`m gonna be REALLY pissed-off at Warner Bros.

Apparently Warner Bros. is starting a new branch that only does straight-to-DVD releases. And apparently two of the 'big' releases are going to be "Gremlins 3" and "Goonies 2", both long-awaited sequels.

If "Goonies 2" is straight-to-DVD, I`m assuming it`ll have an all-new cast and will have very little to do with the original.

I`d love "Gremlins 3" and "Goonies 2" (if done right) to be made........BUT NOT STRAIGHT-TO-DVD!!!!

In addition, apprently Joe Dante won`t be involved in "Gremlins 3" (WARNING! WARNING! WARNING!), and the creatures will be all CGI......which is precisely why Dante doesn`t want to be involved.

They are also considering DVD sequels to "Weird Science" and "The Lost Boys"......which, again, will probably have nothing to do with the originals.

Right now this is just rumor.....and I hope it stays that way.

The lost boys could have a good sequel if done right so could Gremlins but i can't see a goonies movie being good or a weird science movie being any good movies studios need to hire some writers to give them some good original ideas so that they don't have to come out with some bullshit crap sequels to great movies
