I'm wondering what DVD's are worth the Double Dip. I just got the Black Hawk Down 3-Disc Set. I'm looking at getting the Sin City Unrated DVD set also. The Gladiator 3-Disc Set I plan on getting also. Someone also said something about the Kingdom of Heaven 4-Disc Set. I bought the Platinum Edition of Scarface when that came out. I've bought 3 versions of that film. I'm just getting into the whole DVD collection thing so just a few pointers on which movies to Double Dip on would be great.

kingdom of heaven 4-disc is a must own, it gives you a completley different view of the movie.

gladiator-a 3 disc version what else do you need to know, great buy

the scarface movies simply seem to be repacked with most things the same

i've heard great things about the sin city set, i dont own it but am planing on getting it asap

I'm also looking at getting the Sin City set also. I'm just waiting until I can find it for $20 USD or less, same goes for The Kingdom of Heaven and Gladiator sets.

Ah yes, double dipping is one of those evil necessities for really worthy flicks...

Ditto on the Kingdom of Heaven 4-disc and I still need the 3-disc Gladiator.

I got lucky on the Sin City Recut, Extended, Unrated Edition and got it used for $15 at my local CD Warehouse, it's worth the double dip.

Off topic, but when the hell are we gonna get a new Braveheart?!?! Seriously...I want a 3-disc directors cut with remastered picture to rival the 3-disc Gladiator set. But I rant...

All of the above mentioned are good reasons to double dip, I will usually only do it for a new transfer, sometimes for new bonus material, but it really depends on how much I like the movie. Some films I would quadruple dip if they made them, and others I am perfectly content with the one-disc bare bones. That's just me, though.

I WANT A TRUE LIES S.E. SOOO BAD!

Yeah, that too.

I think it all about what movie did you like enough that you would be interested in seeing more special features about and whether an extended versions adds enough extra footage to make it worthwhile

the only movies I have double dipped on our the Lord of the Rings Extended versions and I am surprised nobody mentioned these

each film contains almost 30 extra minutes of footage (some good some bad, mouth of Sauron is my favorite) not to mention 2 extra disks of special features

I have considered
Clerks X
Sin City: Extended Version

I usually just try and get the better version first and unless I am going to want to know more about the film I stick with the version I have bought

I forgot I picked up a criterion edition of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas in a pawn shop for $8 and sold my regular edition for $5 so I upgraded to the criterion for $3

I would recommend any upgrade to criterion if possible
