Was doing some digging re. Grindhouse recently this is what I came up with:
~Grindhouse will be a tribute to: Zombie, Slasher, and Women-In-Prision films (according to one article).
~Q.'s film Deathproof will be a cross between a "car chase movie" and a "slasher movie".
~The fake trailers will cover the: Blaxploitation, Kung Fu, Spaghetti-Western, and Sexploitation genres.
~One of R.R.'s fav zombie films is a Italian zombie film directed by Umberto Lenzi called "Nightmare City" (1980).
~Either Q. and or R.R. said they'd be doing a piece in Grindhouse re. the "missing reel" of the Oliver Reed/Richard Widmark film called "The Sell-Out".
~Q.'s favorite slasher is "My Bloody Valentine" and his fav car chase movie is "Vanishing Point".
~R.R.'s favorite zombie movie is "George A. Romero's Dawn of the Dead".
~Rob Zombie and Eli Roth will be doing fake trailers for Grindhouse.
~Rob Zombie's fake trailer for Grindhouse will be for a movie called something to the effect of "Werewolf Women of the SS".
~The Sexploitation fake trailer will be for a film called "Cowgirls in Sweden".
~Edgar "Shaun of the Dead" Wright will be doing a fake trailer for Grindhouse also.
~A interviewer said that Q.'s film is "Christine" meets "Long Day's Journey into Night" and Q. added "but with more slasher elements!".
~R.R. said his movie is like a John Carpenter movie that took place between "Escape From New York" and "The Thing". And rumor has it they played the original scores (as opposed to the soundtrack) of Carpenter's films on the set and frequently so.
~Eli Roth's fake trailer will be for a slasher opus called "Thanksgiving".
~Supposedly "Dirty Mary,Crazy Larry", "Duel", "Death Race 2000", "Gone In 60 Seconds" ('74), "Crash" (David Cronenberg), and "Psycho" (Hitchcock's) also influenced Q.'s Death Proof.
~Also supposedly "Assault On Precinct 13" and "Escape From New York" also influenced R.R.'s Planet Terror.
