I think the last movie I was this excited to see was Revenge of the Sith, and needless to say, I was more than a little disappointed.
If this movie isn't as perfect as it looks, I'm going to be devestated.

Is this a legit review or just some internet thing ala Ain't It Cool News type thing?
I just can't muster much excitement for this movie even if the review is legit. It just looks incredibly cheesy to me. Still, maybe this is a good thing. Maybe because of my expectations being so low, it will actually end up blowing me away? If the commercials and trailers are any indication though, I doubt it.

I kinda don't like advanced reviews, especially perfect scores. It feels more like promotion and marketing than an actual review for the film. Nevertheless, this is still one of my most anticipated movies of the year. Am REALLY looking forward to seeing it.

I can't believe Im actually bored with the whole thing now. I was so hyped about this movie, that it's left me literally burnt out. For over a year I have scoured the net for any and all stuff about "300". Sure, I am as keen as ever to see this movie, but im so tired mentally, thjat's it's made me almost sick to the point of not wanting to read, see or hear anything about it. But that is a good thing. Becuz when it's out, and remember that you american folk will see this almost 4 weeks before me.I will be all the more surprised. I will also leave this forum for fear of the miullion spoilers.
:D

It's IGN. That's a pretty reliable source.

This is how i see this film , it no doubt looks great if repetitive in it's overall look . The color palette does not seem to change from what iv'e seen , same goes for the lighting . It looks like just one long buildup to a massive battle , in fact , that's the whole movie , the battle , what else can there be , save for the occasional flight of fancy or dream sequence . There's only so much we can hear of how 300 men will fight to the death or become slaves of the persian empire .
I see it as a " sexier " , more brutal , crib notes version of Two Towers and Return of the King , with a cynical , adult edge . I say crib notes , because it's all about the battle , without all the layers , subtext , and colorful characters of the LOTR films .
That's okay , because it should be exciting , one of those pure visceral experiences that may pretend to be something more than it really is , but is really just an unadulterated cinematic show of hyper machismo , filled with homoerotic images that would make Joel Schumacker green with envy . And i don't mind that , we don't get enough films like this , not that many directors are willing or able to make these types of films . The kind were men are men , and they aren't apologizing for it , they're embracing it .
Still have a feeling , ill be using chapter stops when it hits dvd , because the fight scenes look astounding for sure . Although i'm still not sure i want to see guys running around in speedos for almost 2 hours .
