great album. as always, this is fuckin' bill callahan we're talking about. uh, it's not as good as 'a river ain't too much to love' which is my favorite by him, mostly because it's a sunnier, happier album. the instrumentation is great, even though at first i was like 'ewww, whats up with the fiddle' and shit. sounds like a fuckin' hoedown or something. anyway, it's a pretty peppy Callahan album, more 'traditional american' than maybe previous works. The first and second tracks are particularly strong, and the voice is better than ever. someone give this man an award already. if you liked the song "The Well" from River, you'll probably love this. That's the sound most of the CD has.
