I've listened to my first Neu! and Cluster albums over the last week and....this man's telling the truth, albeit incoherently and self-consciously screwy, still, The Truth. No language limitations can withhold it. Yes.

Now, Roy, there are a few bands in the handful I have not heard of. Am I to assume that they are on equal footing with the bands I have heard of that are there?

The best of these is harmonia, thes the neu/ cluster super group, the album they did with eno is hot shit, it was somehow shelved for over two decades, yet still sounds new, I also recomend the cluster and eno collaberations, even the 80's collaberations are awsome.

Magma were a french band who made up there own lanuage and made wierd noises that sound like aliens worshiping vocanos.

Can is one of my favorite bands, and Kraftwerk is great too, although neither of them to my knowledge were associated with Eno (would seem likely for Kraftwerk). Krautrock as a genre is more or less a gift from God. Neu! and Tangerine Dream are the only bands on your list that I've heard a lot by, but I love them, and I'll check out the rest.

I actually put Eno in the header as he has done great work with harmonia, cluster and various other rewors of this particular set of musicians

Well Konrad "Conny" Plank who was the producer on all of Clusters works, and one of the key contributers to the sound we know as Krautrock, he workedwith Kraftwerk on there early stuff and evn Autobahn, Planks a massive Influence on Eno.

I Reccomend;

Cluster : zuckerzeit, cluster 71, cluster 2
Harmonia : Musik Von Harmonia and tracks and traces (with eno)
Tangerine dreams ; Phaedra, the sorcer soundtrack, Strange Mandarin
Pupul Vuh : Tantric Songs, Hosianna Mantra

of magma thought I love all there work Mekanïk Destruktïw Kommandöh

oh and if you want listen to guru guru too

The Magma tracks I have heard are excellent...mmm, Tangerine Dream do some great work, although I bought L'Inferno coz they did the music and was bored stiff to be fair...some amazing trippy effects though.

I would like to listen to Neu!, I just never got round to it.

My dad has some original Neu on vinyl, but I never got into them. The only kraut rock bands I'm really into are Can and Faust. I think it's time to change that.

Yeah it was well cool...we took home many concert souvenirs such as a banana, some gravel and a signed setlist for a big fan and friend currently living in NZ.

I would go see Faust again in a heartbeat. I wish I listened to more music...hmmph.

I love the last 2 bands listed but haven't chipped away anything to listen to from the first few mentioned. Since they are thrown in the same area as the mighty magnificent Tangerine Dream and Popul vuh I have to invest some time to exploring them.
