View Full Version : Eddie Murphy is a class-less self-centered asshole

Reports are coming in (I heard one this morning on the news) that after it was revealed Alan Arkin won best supporting actor at Sundays Oscars, Mr. Norbit got up in a huff, caused a scene and stormed out of the building because he failed to win. He subsequently missed seeing his co-star Jennifer Hudson win for best supporting actress and also missed the rest of the cast tearing the house down with their performances of the songs from their movie.

Thankfully the tv cameras caught none of Eddie acting like a baby, but I honestly feel they should've to show what a dickhead he is.

He should be grateful he was nominated in the first place.

Or his PR ppl will say something like he had to leave abruptly due to a family emegency that suddenly came up....;)

Was Murphy supposed to win that night?

Sounds like sore loser

Would have been hella funny seeing Eddie do a Faith Hill on cam :p

I'd like to see something more concrete to prove it.
Faith Hill was just totally busted (catch it on YouTube) but I think this is too easy a story to run with.

After seeing him poke fun at his disasters ("I even loved Pluto Nash!") and talk about how he doesn't pay attention to the Oscar predictions on the red carpet, I agree with you when I say it's a rumor for now.

From the Oscar telecast on Sunday....
The split screen shows the nominees and when Rachel Weisz (I believe) who was on stage says AND THE WINNER IS,,,,,,,,,,

Makes me wonder what EDDIE mouthed that night when she said Alan Arkin and not him.

hmmmmmmmm

Sore loser or not, he was one of the brighter people in the room for bailing out early on that interminable show.

Maybe its an SNL thing: Wasn't Bill Murray reportedly miffed when he didn't win for Lost In Translation?

I don't believe it until I have real proof, not gossip.

One of the entertainment programs reported that Murphy got up with his girlfriend after the award was announced but they didn't mention he was mad- they said he went to one of the parties if I remember right. He really should have stayed the whole time to be polite though.

It must've been hard for him cause everyone was so sure he was going to get it. Arkin did a good job though and has been a long term actor.

On a side note, Arkin said that he really hoped the little girl in his movie would NOT win the oscar because he said that too much fame too young is bad for you. He referred to the other girls who have been in the news lately.

Haha...are you kidding? echo was obviously kidding...

But of course, if you're kidding I'll look silly for taking you seriously, but if I don't say anything I pass up the opportunity to make YOU look silly for posting something....hmm, this is a conundrum.

If I was Eddie Murphy, I would have chosen to not even GO to the ceremony. Whether I won the award or not, I probably would have booked out as quick as possible right after the nominees's winners for my category were announced.

I'd probably look pretty pissed as well because of the emotional scarring for sitting through as much of the Oscars as i did.

Like Danial Craig not being able to drive a stick and getting a tooth knocked out? How long did the Entertainment shows run with that shit?

For the record, he didn't get a tooth knocked out, but lost a crown and had it repaired that day. And apparently you have to be able to drive a stick to get a license in England.

Whether he left in a huff or not, it still was quite inconsiderate to leave before the original songs and Hudson's shoe-in category.

I'm going to go with "classless, self-centered asshole", based on his cold acceptance speech at the Globes and in general the way I've seen him act previously.

It was pretty visible that Murray was pissed and/or hurt that he didn't win...he wasn't smiling when Penn won and immediately after, Billy Crystal gave him some nice words in order to get him back in his chair.

Funny...that seems like a legitimate question to me. Why wish for someone to kill himself based on his decision to leave an award show early?

And why are we taking the reports that he left early as behavior of a sore loser? I haven't seen a credible source report this yet. Nor have I seen footage to prove othewise. When he was on that ABC special, he said he was going to spend the evening with his family after the award was presented. He also said he preferred to watch the show at home.

And since I'm not in on the joke, why is it funny to hope for death on another human being? I wouldn't and therefore I don't get it. Please feel free to explain the joke

What exactly did he say?

Here's how I interpreted it: echo was making a sarcastic comment as a joke on how pissed off people seem to be getting over an incident they can't even prove happened. Sure, he left, but there's no way to prove what his logic was. Yet people still seem to be angry. So echo uses an obviously over-the-top comment to point out how quickly the rest of us are jumping the gun.

Or hey, maybe he honestly does want Eddie Murphy to end his own life as soon as possible.

Yeah, I was just joking. I shouldnt of joked about someone killing themselves though so I apologize. Murphy just seems like such a drama queen that it seems he would be so upset that he would end his life.
