I really want to see High Crimes.

Ashley Judd and Morgan Freeman have great chemistry together and I really enjoyed the two in Kiss The Girls, Morgan in Along Came A Spider and Ashley in Double Jeopardy.

It's a given that High Crimes will be a hit. Kiss The Girls grossed over $60 million, Along Came A Spider grossed $75 million, and Double Jeopardy racked up $116 million smacks.

Will High Crimes be cliched?? Of course! But what thriller these days isn't cliched???

I will be there this weekend.

I think it looks good. I saw the trailer to it when I rented a movie, I think it was DON'T SAY A WORD. I haven't seen the previews on TV though. But I do want to see it, I think it looked pretty good. I love Ashley Judd, she's great and very adorable, I'll see anything with her in it. I even loved SOMEONE LIKE YOU, I thought she was so cute in that movie. I'll definitely see HIGH CRIMES, most likely on VHS/DVD, but I will see it.

Review: High Crimes

Starring Morgan Freeman, Ashely Judd, and Jim Caviezel

I saw this film at a sneak preview and thought it was a great movie. I expected it to be boring and unoriginal. But it is a very interesting and cool. The acting is top notch. Morgan Freeman is a great actor. He really jumps into this role. Ashley Judd played bad great. She was just cool. She did not accept that military dudes crap. Jim Caviezel was a good supporter and really proved that THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO and FREQUENCY were not a fluke. He is a powerful actor. The direction is ight. This movie just does not slow down. It is keeps your eyes glued to the screen. This movie is on level with such great military tales such as THE SIEGE and A FEW GOOD MEN. I highly reccomend you go see this movie. It is fun, interesting, and amazingly acted. 9/10

I think that this movie looks pretty good, and am looking forward to seeing it. I am not completely sure how well it will do at the box-office though. I am guessing it will be somewhere between Along Came A Spider and Double Jeopardy though (closer to Along Came a Spider). My prediction is an opening of $18 million or so and a finish of around $80 million. However, it could be less or more (nobody will know until Saturday).

Will definitely check this out. I'd watch an Ashley Judd movie if all she did was paint her toenails for two hours. Morgan Freeman commands the screen like no other. And director Carl Franklin (ONE FALSE MOVE, ONE TRUE THING, THE DEVIL IN A BLUE DRESS)is the real wild card here. He has yet to make a bad film. Here's hoping HIGH CRIMES isn't it.

I'm not real excited about it. mainly cause of that fascination the trailer cutters had with Morgan Freeman saying "wildcard." I.E. "I love being the wildcard." "I'm the wildcard." I cringe when he says it

The wildcard thing gets on my nerves too but I still want to see the movie. That doesn't change the fact that it looks good and has hottie Ashley Judd.

This movie looks good. Who cares if we've seen it before? Morgan Freeman and Ashley Judd have damn good chemistry together. And they're both worth me buying a ticket to see this movie.

Saw it last night. HIGH CRIMES makes absolutely no sense. But who cares? The joy here is watching Ashley Judd and Morgan Freeman do their thing. Judd can do any emotion with ease. Of course it helps that she's done this kind of woman-in-peril role so many times before. Still, she's a delight. So is Morgan Freeman, who can do the old sage routine in his sleep. The two of them make HIGH CRIMES more entertaining than it has any right to be. My advice to both, though: Fire your agents. You deserve projects more worthy of your immense talents.

High Crimes (2002)

Rated PG-13 for Violence, Sexual Content, & Language

Director: Carl Franklin

Starring Ashley Judd, Morgan Freeman, Jim Caviezel, Adam Scott, Amanda Peet, & Bruce Davison.

The film's plot focuses on Claire Kubick(Ashley Judd) who's a popular lawyer. Her ex-Army husband, Tom(Jim Caviezel) who is eventually arrested for supposedly killing several people somewhere in Mexico. Claire decides to defend her husband, but she will need help from another lawyer, Charles Grimes(Morgan Freeman).

"High Crimes" reminded me of Morgan Freeman's last film, "Along Came a Spider". They both make no sense, they both are too predictable, and they both toy with you. The difference between them is that all this is much more noticeable in "High Crimes". Go ahead and sue me, but "Spider" was much more enjoyable. Oh yeah, this movie is also very cliche. We've seen this before. It was called "Rules of Engagement". Which was a great movie.

"High Crimes" likes to toy with the viewer. Don't get me wrong, it's a good thing if a film toys with you. But only if it does it in an intelligent manner. Examples of this are films like "Memento", "Session 9", "The Usual Suspects" etc etc. "High Crimes" on the other hand, does it in a manner that makes no sense.

"High Crimes" is so predictable. Once the twist is revealed, the audience I was watching the film with were so shocked. I wasn't surprised at all. I saw everything that was coming millions of miles away. This movie is so incredibly easy to figure out. All you have to do is pay close attention.

As you have probably noticed, I haven't said anything about the acting. Well, there's not much to say. Ashley Judd and Morgan Freeman still have that wonderful chemistry they shared in 1997's "Kiss the Girls". Are their performances great? Hardly. But they do get the job done. It's just damn unfortunate their talent was wasted on such an absurd film.

Running Time: 2 hours

Grade: 5/10

High Crimes is simply a solid thriller.

The film was not made to win Academy Awards, it was made simply to entertain and it succeeds at that.

I will spare you guys from yet another synopsis of the film, as you should already know what it is about.

Ashley Judd and Morgan Freeman are both great actors. They are always competent and bring life and emotion to both of their characters.

The film is well paced and suspenseful. sure, there are many plot holes but who really gives a flying frig. The film is meant to entertain and it does the job extremely well.

High Crimes is a superior film to Kiss The Girls 7/10, Judd and Freeman's last film together. I can only hope that they pair up again in the near future.

If you want 2 hours of entertainment, and love legal thrillers like I do. I highly recommend High Crimes

8/10

i thought i was great. Just like some other people said, the ending was awesome....but made pretty much no sense to the movie. Acting, directing-A+. Script i thought was great, too. I guess the same story never gets old to me though.......
