View Full Version : Creepiest actor or role you can think of
Dom Shady

You know what i'm talking about. What character or actor, when you see them onscreen, gives you the chills? It can be anything from how they look, to what they say, to how the act. The first person I can think of is Peter Stormare in many roles, most notably his role in Minority Report. I dunno, he just seems like a sleazeball especially in that, not to mention Prison Break.

And I'm not fond of Jon Heder's lost stare.

Thora Birch in the Hole, she really creeped me out hte way she would react to what happens in the story.
"have you ever loved someone so much that you just didn't exist any more?"
"No i haven't"
"...well i have..."
That line combined with the events of the movie really creep me out.

Let's see...some actors /actresses that were really creepy in some of their roles would be...Angela Bettis in "May" Glen Close in "Fatal Attraction" Kevin Spacy in "Seven" Christian Bale in "American Psycho" and "The Machinist" Cillian Murphy in "Batman Begins" Christopher Walken in well...several movies...Crispin Glover in "Willard" and Elijah Wood in "Sin City." I'll think of more later...

The guy who plays Ben on Lost also. He was the first I thought of.
Christopher Walken, though he's not really scary at all because he wasn't really typecast the way he could've been. Still, a scary looking guy.

Nothing like Stockwell lip synching Rob Orbison's "In Dreams". One of my all time favorite movie scenes.
The following characters are also quite creepy:
Mrs. Baylock (Billie Whitelaw) - The Omen
The Cowboy (Monty Montgomery) - Mulholland Drive
Minnie Castavet (Ruth Gordon) - Rosemary's Baby
Mrs. Danvers (Judith Anderson) - Rebecca
As far as actors go, I always get really creeped out by John Cassavetes whenever I see him in a movie. The man's got one of the scariest presences ever.

Lost Highway and Mulholland Drive, respectively. Lynch does indeed dominate this topic.
I can't find any pictures of Delbert Grady (Phillip Stone) from The Shining, and it's really pissing me off. But yeah, I've always found Phillip Stone's performance in that film exceptional.

As Danger said, Lost Highway and Mulholland Drive, respectively. However, it should be noted that the picture of the creature (homeless man?) from Mulholland Drive somehow sucks the creepy right out of it. The scene itself is worlds more frightening than that picture.

Hey, Eraserhead is one of my favorite movies of all times. No need to worry about that!:D I wasn't saying that I wasn't psyched to see them. I was just saying that I'd prefer to be scared now, rather than later.
I trust the guy that his movies make some sort of complicated sense underneath all the wild perplexion, even if he's being a bit of a Kubrick not telling us. Even if they don't, they still work excellently on many levels as mood pieces. Art doesn't necessarily have to make sense to give itself a desired effect.

I don't know who creeps me out the most. Maybe Hauer's John Ryder, or Arno Frisch's Paul from "Funny Games". But the guy I credit for being the best villain is Dennis Hopper as Frank Booth from "Blue Velvet". Unlike Hannibal Lecter, this guy seems very aware of his villainy as being by choice, but he's also so fucked-up you never are sure exactly what the man's gonna do. And if he's aware of it, that makes him even more frightening, because he enjoys it.

Sometimes I question why they put certain characters like this in children's film. I know this is a joke to some extent, but the guy is fairly disturbing. It reminds me of how they put Nosferatu at the end of a Spongebob Squarepants episode and that dreadful ghost train from Thomas the Tank Engine that gave me nightmares as a wee one.
