I'd pick Elfman especially since I love his work with Oingo Boingo.

easily Spielberg/Williams, just considering that Williams has been nominated for an academy award on 14 Spielberg films and won on 3, says a lot

Elfman/Burton compliment each other nicely, I think.

Williams and Spielberg. Not to say the other two don't work well together, because they do.

Great poll, I had to vote for Spielberg/Williams because their early collaborations (Jaws, E.T., Raiders, etc) are so utterly classic (not that more recent ones haven't been very solid too). The score in E.T. is operatic, the movie plays like a symphonic magnum opus. It's one of the most perfect mergings of images and sound in film history. Both E.T. and Jaws are probably in my Top 10 film scores. Come to think of it, the films are up there too.
Having said all this I love Burton and Elfman's work together. Batman and Beetlejuice are awesome. Pretty much everything they've done together is terrific.

boths groups are great in terms of great colbartions and great scores.
I pick Speilberg/Williams because they have bit more iconic scores then Burton/Elfmen. Plus I will always biased towards Mr. Williams

Spielberg/Williams. Those are some of the classics right there. Burton and Elfman have done some awesome stuff though.

Spielberg/Williams - Raiders of the Lost Ark, E.T., Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Jurassic Park and for crying out loud, f*ckin' Jaws.

I've got to go with Spielbergo and Williams. Nothing really gets better than the themes for Jaws, Jurassic Park, and Raiders.
But I do very much admire Danny Elfman. He's one of the more unnatural, out-of-left-field composers still working in the business today. I do love his score, his singing, and his songs for The Nightmare Before Christmas, although technically that's not a Burton film.
Burton and Elfman are a great team, but I must go with Spielberg and Williams because the great music for great films like Jaws and Raiders of the Lost Ark(to name just two) are what inspired me to be a film scholar in the first place.

Both teams are great, but I give my vote to Burton/ Elfman because everyone else is voting the Speilberg/ Williams. Both teams rule, though.

This is like choosing if I prefer mom or dad. I picked Burton/Elfman simply because Burton's work really brings the very, VERY best out of Elfman's talent. Williams is also talented outside of Spielberg's body of work. Both are two of the very best composers working today though, clearly.

Although I do love Williams' scores for Spielberg movies, I love Elfman's for Burton movies even more. They're all perfect.
John Williams owns Danny Elfman.
