During Oscar season, there was this big publicity deal made out of the fact that three spanish directors made 3 very acclaimed movies and were lined up for Oscars. Of the three listed above, which one was your favorite?

All three got 8/10s from me, but I think I enjoyed Pan's Labrynth more than the other two; it was the most unique storywise and the fantastical element also elevated it above the others.

Children of Men definetly. COM was my favorite movie of last year, actually of the past six years. It's the first movie in many years that I walked out of thinking "That's one of the best movies I've ever seen." So, sooo powerful and awe-inspiring.
I thought both Babel and Pan's Labyrinth were very good, technically well-made and well-acted movies, but neither resonated with me emotionally or connected to me on a deep level. So I'd stop short of calling either "great".

Haven't seen Pan's yet.
Children Of Men - 9/10
Babel - 5/10 (Way too long and only 2 of the plots kept my interest which were The deaf Asian girl and Brad Pitt/Cate Blanchett ones.)

Labyrinth. A violent fairytale against history always wins with me.

Children of Men - 10/10.
Pan's Labyrinth - 9(.5)/10.
Babel - 9/10.
All of them were excellent and the three best of last year (excluding the obvious masterpiece) but the winner for me is Children of Men. One of the smartest most complex movies I've seen in a long time.

Children of Men - 9/10 or A
Babel - 8/10 or B+
Children of Men was a near perfect achievement, but I don't get quite as drawn in emotionally as some have.
Babel had great acting and cinematography, but the screenplay was significantly flawed.
Have yet to see Pan's.
