Gotta read the book and then you can grasp about 80% of it. King got a little out there even for me but the story can't even be done justice in a mini-series.

yeah, it's all pretty much explained in the book, sadly i can't really help you understand it since it's been 5-6 years since i read it

going from a very rough memory of it, the thing that was Pennywise and the spider at the end is like the ultimate evil in the universe that lives at the dead lights (the end of the universe/time, something like that i think).....it was a spider at the end because its one of the most common fears

that is going from a very rough memory of the book though, i'm sure somebody can try to explain it better

the books very long but is definitely worth reading

The spider aspect is what made the 2nd half of the adaption so weak, espicially in comparison to the first half...

and its not even just because of the whole clown deal...

Ok maybe that explains it quite a bit, but something else has been bugging me. Has Pennywise always been??? Has he he always been in the same town? Why was he in a scrapbook on an old newspaper piece???? Was he a real clown before??? A real person???

As mentioned earlier the thought is that Pennywise is sort of the embodiment of evil. Evil never dies...thus he has been around Derry forever. It explains the cyclical nature of the killings (every X years...I dont remember exactly) and teh mentions of him in old newspapers etc.

I used to be a huge fan of this movie back when I was a kid. I still remember watching it when it first debuted. After they aired it a couple more times I taped it and used to watch it a lot. I haven't seen it in more than five years now but I have a feeling it probably won't hold up as well as I remembered it. At least not the second part anyways. That seemed slightly weak even back then. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

It might not be the greatest movie, but you gotta give props to Tim Curry for his performance.
