Being a hopeless romantic, I'm always interested in seeing timeless, powerful love stories. Sadly, today (with the exception of "The Fountain" and "The Constant Gardener") there aren't many romantic movies (lots of romantic comedies though) that are as powerful as some of the real love stories we've seen before.

So what are the most romantic movies you've seen? The most powerful love stories? No matter if they're 'happily ever after' or 'torn love' (sucker for that), what are your favorites?

One that immediately came to mind was "Ladyhawke". I recently saw that movie and just reminded me how awesome being in love is. Another one I'm a sucker for (and I'm sorry, Tagia) is "Romeo + Juliet" (moreso the new version).

Oh and if someone in this thread fucking dares mention "King Kong", he'd get shot.
I'm serious.
Shot in the balls. Right in the fucking balls.

The movie that made me fall in love with her in the first place. I rented it on Netflix for 3 months a year after it's release and never looked back.

some of you may label me insane/crazy...

but True Romance with Christian Slater & Patricia Arquette is my favorite romance flick out there...just because of their characters.
