Dancer-singer Willa Ford has signed to star as Anna Nicole Smith in an indie biopic that will begin shooting next week.

The previously announced film, "Anna Nicole," is produced by Jack Nasser and Joseph Nasser with Elie Samaha exec producing. Keoni Waxman directs.

Movie will cover Smith's life from age 17 until her death in February at 39, including her success as a Playboy centerfold, Guess model and actress, her marriage to billionaire oil tycoon J. Howard Marshall II, the death of her son and her own death five months after giving birth to a baby girl, Dannielynn. The dispute that erupted over who was the baby's father was settled Tuesday when a judge in the Bahamas ruled, based on DNA tests, in favor of California photographer and former Smith boyfriend Larry Birkhead.

Ford's best known for her multiplatinum single "I Wanna Be Bad" and her debut album "Willa Was Here." She was also a performer on the third season of ABC's "Dancing With the Stars." She is currently writing and recording her sophomore album.

Ford is repped by APA and Untitled Entertainment.

This officially makes me want to piss on Anna Nicole's grave. How is she deserving of a documentary? I never understood why she was famous in the first place, she wasn't even that hot. Seriously, what's the big deal about Anna Nicole and why did so many people love her? What was her talent besides being a dumb bitch? Was it acting? Was it singing? Was it dancing, or writing, painting, was she an athlete? What was she good at and why was she so famous? Someone please educate me on this.

Well, think of it this way: they made a movie about some schmuck who may or may not have recieved a large amount of money in Howard Hughes' "supposed" will. Why was he in this will? Because he gave the guy a lift home. There is one scene with Hughes and the rest of the movie is basically a bio-pic of his life: his failed marriage, his re-marriage, etc. He's just an ordinary guy but because of that one little detail they put his life up on film.

The thing is, when there's a good story, there's a good story. Is Anna Nicole's life as worthy of a bio pic as Gandhi? Hell no. But it has a lot of elements to make an interesting story, whether the lady deserved to be famous or not. The only problem is, they'll probably make it into a terrible melodrama and be very sympathetic for Anna and instead of an indie film, it will be more of an indie Movie-Of-The-Week. But hey, I'm always open to being surprised- although usually when a movie is made so quickly like this, it's done lazily and without much care and it will most likely be awful and make people hate Anna Nicole even more.

Jake LaMatta was just a boxer who beat people up inside and outside of the ring- hardly seemingly deserving of a biopic, but with great writing, direction, and acting, they made it into one of the greatest films of all time: Raging Bull. Which is more than you could say about Michael Man's Ali biopic. So a great person doesn't always necessarily mean a great movie.

It's gonna be a tough one for the writers considering she never actually did anything in her entire life. Why was she news again?

Enough already. Months of hearing about her miserable NO TALENT wasted life taking up real news, I wake up every morning and have to hear about who the father of her illegitimate child is - seriously, I am in that bad of mood over the entire cast in this surreal joint production of a Maury and Springer Show. Now, not one but 2 movies about this BIMBO are in the works. This shit can only be appealing to no talents who look at screwing their way to fame as a legitimate way to fame cuz they have no real talent.

I don't get it.... so she was famous because of her tits? I see plenty of gorgeous women in my area with great tits, but none of them are celebrities, even though many of them are more intelligent and have greater talents than Anna Nicole Smith ever dreamed to have.

Probably straight to "garbage" release. What are people thinking when they get the idea for this. Is the public really this lame.
