In a countryside town bordering on a magical land, a young man makes a promise to his beloved that he'll retrieve a fallen star by venturing into the magical realm.

For his second film as Director Matthew Vaughn (Layer Cake) has assembled a fantastic cast: Robert DeNiro, Michelle Pfeiffer, Claire Danes, Sienna Miller and Ricky Gervais star, along with newcomer Charlie Cox.
The full trailer is just out and suggests that Vaughn has made a great looking film, it looks beautiful and the effects spectacular.
Most important though this looks like fun, DeNiro seems to be having a ball as a pirate and there appears to be a good balance of action and romance.
But the thing that really sticks out in the trailer is Michelle Pfieffer. Holy pfuck she's looking good and she looks to be having a brilliant time too, getting her teeth into a villainous role. Oh how the cinema has missed her.

I think that's kinda harsh to compare this to Eragon... That movie was a horrible, horrible Star Wars/Dragonheart rip off.
I think this looks promising and the cast looks first rate. Very interested.

I read the book so I'll definitely check this out.

I really liked the book. The trailer for this is very uneven, and left me cold. But there is a lot of good talent in it, so I remain cautiously optimistic. Pfeiffer remains as bangable as ever.

I believe it went from PG13 to R without edits if I'm not mistaken. Besides, the fact that some of those "images" (Pfeiffer's transformation) are in the trailer proves once again how FUBAR the MPAA still is. I guess a sequel to This Film Is Not Yet Rated could be useful.

I'm actually looking forward to it anyways especially since I used to be in a cult that forbid me from watching Rs (the reason why I left it in the first place) because of the great cast of DeNiro,Danes (hot!), and Pfeiffer (hot MILF!)

This looks like it could be good. Definitely could be the best fantasy since Narnia. I thought some of the effects seemed a bit cheesy (like Harry Potter cheesy), but there was some great location shots in there.

Also did anyone else think Claire Danes looked wierd in this?

I saw this preview before Distrubia and I initially thought it would be lame (especially since Stardust isnt exactly the coolest sounding movie)
But I was wrong-- the trailer makes it look GOOD-- DeNiro as a pirate lol
I actually WANT to see this now
