On that note, I don't really believe Samwise Gamgee to be a sidekick. He's more the hero of the trilogy than Frodo ever was. He was the one who saved the Ringbearer's ass more times than either of them could count. And what did Frodo ever exactly do besides give into the Ring before he inadvertently destroyed it in a mad rush for power?
