Nicholson is the most consistently entertaining, for me. He is my favorite actor not only because he has given several of the best performances ever, but because in every role I've seen him in, he just shows so much joy in his work. He obviously loves acting, and he has as much fun with his work as any actor I've seen, along with Cagney and Mitchum.

Depp and Nicholson, although thats a pretty good list of actors. I liked Mel a lot until just recently.. he hasn't really acted in quite some time. Ford and Washington are both class acts and have made some amazing films. And Bruce Willis is very very consistent if nothing else.

I love Jack Nicholson...one of my top 20 favorite actors...but in no way is he one of the "best" actors....i would love if someone would tell me how he is better then someone like Russel Crowe...yeh maybe Nicholson is maybe the best entertainer...but as far as diversity acting..come on....

I love Jack in the departed..but hes the mother fucking Joker again.

BY the way..if Nicholson was really one of the greats..HE WOULD MAKE ATTEMPTS TO HOLD ACCENTS.

People like Robert De Niro, Paul Newman, Russel Crowe make Nicholson look like a type cast psycho path.

Tom Hanks gets my vote...there is very little to no flicks that I don't like of his.
