Hey everybody,
I'm sure that most of you have heard this news and I'm also pretty sure that it's pissing most of you off as it did for me when I first heard it. According to Harry over at AICN, Tim Story and the crew have finalized the look of the badass planet eater called "Galactus" and that instead of seeing him, all we'll see is a storm cloud. Sucks huh?
Well to be perfectly honest, I think the news is bullshit and I don't believe it. I think Harry was misinformed somehow because Tim Story specifically mentioned in his blog that they were only in the early stages of designing Galactus just over a month ago. He said that we would see Galactus for sure and not some stupid ass storm cloud. So to be perfectly honest, I don't believe this story at all and we're being misled by someone. This is what Tim said in his blog update on March 2nd:
There continues to be much speculation about Galactus. Major speculation. We haven't finished the design of him/it so be careful about what you read and believe. Trust me...no one knows. One things for sure, you can expect to see him/it. It will be pretty powerful. I'm having a lot of fun with the concept and believe me - MOST will be satisfied.

With how fragile his reputation is from the first movie being so poorly done, I believe every word he said and I don't believe this storm cloud story at all. What do you all think?

I wouldnt mind this idea, because there will be so much crap going on with the Surfer and Doom he will be like a God talkin from the sky. As long as he takes form in the 3rd movie.

Bring on the eater of worlds...His presence, even the rumor of it, will get me to the theater!

Last week they reported a rumor that was proven 100% false, this sounds like complete BS, i'm basicaly sure of it, there's been talk and speculation of Galactus being a "purple fart" for months, it has something to do with the novelization, but there is more to it, long story short don't pay attention to Harry.

"Laurence Fishburne ("The Matrix" trilogy) will voice the role of The Silver Surfer in 20th Century Fox's Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, opening in theaters on June 15.
Rumors had Fishburne voicing the role of Galactus in the sequel, but the studio hasn't decided whether Galactus will even speak, says Variety. Silver Surfer, who rides his surfboard through space, is the herald for the planet-destroying Galactus. Fishburne joined "Silver Surfer" this week."
I was hoping Doug Jones would get it, oh well this is cool none the less, I hope they run it through some filter.

Fox made an official statment today:
"Laurence Fishburne is officially the voice of the Silver Surfer and not the voice of Galactus, as some other fan sites have stated.
There was never a Seattle test screening, period. Finally, moviegoers will have to wait to see Galactus in the movie, but fans definitely won't be disappointed."

I bet The Scorpions are excited about this news. Might give them a chance to make some money if the studio is smart and picks up the rights to their song.

I stopped paying attention to AICN "news" years ago.
Fishburne's voice will be PERFECT as the SS!

I find it mind boggling that after the pile of diarrhea that was Fantastic Four you people can still be excited for a sequel. i guess you willl never learn.
And how does having the T-1000 make a bad movie any better?

I wish that people would stop making that comparison. You say it like it's being stolen from T2 and it's not. The Silver Surfer was there long before the T-1000 and they look a lot alike. That's it.

It's like I said before, some fans don’t mind getting fucked in the ass as long as they get a reach around. The Silver Surfer is that reach around. :p

Matter of opinion, I grew up reading FF comics and I personally LOVED the first movie, so to each their own, Can't wait for # 2, I'm looking more forward to this than Spider-Man 3.

Although the trailer kicks ass, I've got a bad feeling about this movie.
Maybe the next trailer will restore my faith.

i for one didnt like the first Fantastic Four because first of all...the origin story felt rush and out of whack and the the climax scene between FF and Dr. Doom...felt..i dont know...rather wrong and stupid and just *ugh*......i just wish that what i saw from FF2 was done in FF..instead..of a whack out origin story...i just wasnt that satisfy with FF...hell i didnt even watch it when it came out in theater i wound up buying it on dvd and i still couldnt watch it pass the first 15 minutes or so...double *UGH*....i wound up giving the FF dvd away to a friend of mine from school...i think i wound up watching it on HBO..and still felt that the origin story was way off....hell i think i prefer the Roger Cormac (sp?) movie thats on bootleg that was never show on theater way back in the '90s.....with the exception of the storms parents being alive...i think...at least it was faithful to the origin story...how richards and doom were friends in college n do to an accident he became disfigure and wound up getting revenge on reed instead of doom being a corporate tycoon and what not...
*UGH*....god every time i think bout Tim Story FF...i gag
actually i cant blame it much on TIm Story as the screenwriter rewriting the whole origin story that was originally submited by another writer *UGH*

i agree 100% althought i wish they could have done somthing like this in the first one instead of changing the whole origin thing..but i guess TPTB..were too chicken sh*t to think that the audience wouldnt swallow a dictator from latvia...probably would be similar to whats going on in the real world...well u get my drift..*i hope*

That would be kinda cool actualy.
Like a large zeus like figure with clouds and lightning all around, just far enough inside that u cant make out what he looks like.

Well, sort of. My theory is that, ifGalactus rolls in from outer space, it's bound to affect the atmosphere in a very negative way, and may resemble on radar, and visually, resembles a hurricane, or wall cloud.
Then at the last moment, he reaches through the clouds and we get a glimpse of him.
