Pretty sweet if you ask me. I know its a classic to alot of you, but hey, if you're gonna remake everything under the sun, might as well run the wheels off it.

did they announced this at the beginning of the month? cause there is a chance its a joke. ;)
I dig the original, I would dig a remake if they don't try to make it a balls to wall rip off "thriller" like the Black Chri-- opps, i mean X-Mas remake.
If it's more in the lines of Thanksgiving i might even check it out in theaters.

Yeah, of course no word yet on the release date. Can't be too long before coming out. At least by the end of the year.

I wouldn't doubt it; that seems to be the theme with horror remakes nowadays.

I'm guessing Lindsey "I thought rehab was a great time" Lohan will be cast as Muffy.
I hope it doesn't suck, but it probably will.
I love the original.
I don't understand this idea. The original is famous for it's ending, so everyone will know already what happens. If they combat that by changing the ending, they ruin the best part of the movie. This seems like an especially stupid idea for a remake.

Well, by that rationale, nobody should watch remakes at all cause people already know the ending

Have you seen the original "April Fools Day"?
There's a whole paradigm shift when the ending is revealed.

The Butcher Bros. are writing it. If you haven't seen their entry in the 8 Films to Die For series, it is clearly the best out of the bunch. I have faith that they won't fuck it up.

This might be one of the few remakes that could have potential if done right. I saw it on IFC a year ago and loved it. It's much better than the movies it inspired like Scream for example.

Eh...should be used to it, but I REALLY enjoyed the original so they better do it right.
Then again if Halloween by Zombie has managed to grab me up in a good bunch I might try and give it a shot - not like the voices of us movie-goers will stop them from making them anyway.
