I see Tim is in the middle of his latest project w/ Jim Carrey in tow! cool!" Ripley's Believe It Or Not?"..and of course Tim's take on Sweeny Todd (The Demon Barber of Fleet Street!)I saw this play back in the early 1980's very cool show..this play to film was a no-brain'er on Burton fans wish Tim to do list and he's doin' it! ....I always loved Tim's story choices and most of his earlier work...especially...Pee Wee Herman's Big Adventure...and Ed Wood..wonderful films...both so different at the time...BUT, after several years of Burton film releases...1 thing bothers me....well 2 actually...1. everything film is looking the same...U guys know what I'm sayin'? the sets etc. 2.remaking classics..that really can not be improved upon in my opinion....such as Tim's attempt with "Planet Of The Ape's" and "Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory"....I still remember going to the Drive-In back in....1970? to see this masterpiece w/ Gene Wilder...no improvements to the original could ever be made...Here's an idea....I would however like to see Tim take on an old ancient film which is a favorite of mine that I think would be right up Tim Burton's alley ..."March Of The Wooden Soldiers" an old b/w Laurel &Hardy film classic...was very cool....I could see Burton doin' this one in some fashion...probably minus and look a like Laurel &Hardy characters...maybe script in some new characters in place of Stan an Olly?...any one see Burton's work as I do these last few years? as a bit of repetition?

Last I heard, Ripley's Believe It Or Not? was on hold for now. It's apparently still happening but not right now. Burton is finishing Sweeney Todd, which is coming out in December I think. Can't wait!

And Burton wasn't remaking Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, it wasn't his source material. He was making another adaptation of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (which was the his movie's title). And while Planet of the Apes blew, CatCF was a very good movie and I think was better than the Wilder movie.
And while Burton's movies do look alike as far as sets and scenery are concerned, that doesn't take away that his movies are usually very good.

The things that people say "all look the same" are pretty much his signature style. Lots of directors have their signature stamps, particularly cult directors like Burton.

Definitley dig the continuing style of Burton. It assures you that you're watching a TB movie, and gives you a sense your in his reality now. I think Tim does the remakes and such so that he has more money for his own projects. After 'Planet' he gave us Big Fish, and then after 'Charlie' came 'Corpse'. Did anyone else notice that Serries of Unfortunate Events seemed to try and emulate his style without him?
